So last year I started a new New Year’s Resolution – to choose a word that would represent my mind set for the coming year. My word for 2011 was Simplify – not quite sure if I did that well as last year was also the year I started Becoming you and that process was anything but Simple! If anything it did the exact opposite of Simplifying my life…
Anyway we are now almost a week into 2012 and I really do need to identify which word will represent this year for me. So here it is, my Word of the Year 2012.
Anyway what word would you choose to inspire, motivate or represent this coming year in your life??? Some other ideas: balance, risk, faith, grow, capture, nurture, restore, love, give…. Hope I got you thinking!
What were you other New Year’s resolutions? Have you managed to stick to them so far. I am pleased to report that I kept my resolution of last year and plan to continue with it for this year…. this was to stay away from the evil chip bowl at all social occasions (the worst as I seemed to always stuff my face and loose track of the number of handfuls!) This year I’m adding the dreaded “fizzy drinks” to the list of no-no’s. You might think I’m quite mad but I am not crazy enough to eliminate chocolate – I’m also giving myself the fall back of healthy “fizz” – like Appletizer or fruit juice with carbonated water – I’m just avoiding the sugar/ colourant laden ones! Do you have any health related resolutions??
This is interesting that you should elect a word for the year. Never thought of that, but now that your article has highlighted it and I reflect back to 2011 – the word that kept coming forward in my life, was authentic. In fact that was the word that dominated my life for 18 months.
By the looks of the way things have moved towards at the end of 2011 and now in this short time of 2012, the possible word for 2012 is : Success.
its all that I have on my mind – Success in the endeavour that I find materializing in this phase of my life.
BTW – its quite quirky to read about your fetish for that bowl of chips – honestly – it has been my weakness as well. Once I start, I embarrassingly nearly eat the bowl all on my own. I also cut it out last year, but found my hand dipping into those bowls during the festive season again.
all the best and every further success in your quest for Truth.
