It might still be the middle of a heat wave outside but today I thought I’d give you a sneak peek into what you can expect come winter from Woolworths…
I popped in to their recent Winter Homeware preview and there were so many beautiful things that I couldn’t help taking loads of photos of all the prettiness coming to shelves soon!
From gorgeous colours to sumptous textures, exotic patterns and gleaming rose gold accents there’s lots to look forward to from Woolworths Homeware in winter 2016.
“We were really inspired by beautiful patterns and prints, as well as exotic locations for this season’s collection,” says Woolworths Home Design Manager, Claire Smith-Robinson
Take a tempting look…
Eating
Metallics are perennially popular, and copper is taking centre stage this season with a wide variety of burnished homeware products, such as caged bowls, beaten serveware and kitchen utensils (including this gorgeous copper kettle!!)
Sleeping
Nomadic Luxe continues the theme of exotic influences, tactile textures, including plenty of woven and plush textiles, appliques, metallic trims, fringe and eclectic embellishments.
Living
The Global Folk collection explores mythology in a modern, multicultural way and features embroidery, patchwork, folkloric animals, plenty of florals, and a mix-and-match approach to pattern. Antique metal finishes, hand painted wood and ceramics, and coloured glass are the order of the day, with etched, distressed and embossed surfaces adding texture.
The Silk Route range takes its cue from ancient trade routes, where west meets east. Heavily influenced by an oriental mien, you will also find florals, animals, fringing and a hint of modern arabesque.
Woolworths is committed to the continued support of local artisans and artists, and for this season’s collection the team collaborated with designer Tori Stowe, to create some of the beautiful products in the range. Based in a rural village in the Eastern Cape, Stowe’s work is inspired by her natural surroundings, including animals and plants.
The new ranges of gorgeous homeware items will be available in Woolworths stores, as well as online at www.woolworths.co.za from March 2016.
