Win 4 tickets to FamFest 2013

The first ever FamFest takes place in Constantia on Saturday 27 April 2013. This fun-filled family event will combine the beautiful sounds of a music festival with the wonderful goods of a market, plus the spectacle of a circus and loads more. There will be a Kids Zone, a Teen Park, a Chill Out Area and a Main Stage area; as well as great stalls and an Open-air Cinema!! Sounds like a fabulous festival for the whole family.

FamFest will have children at the forefront and will be 100% child-friendly.

FamFest 2013

Taking place on the Claremont Cricket Club fields in Constantia (next to Virgin Active), the festival gates open at 10am and close at 9pm after the screening of a family-movie at an outdoor-cinema.

The four zones – a Kids Zone, a Teen Park, a Chill Out Area and the Main Stage – will flow seamlessly into each other. The Kids Zone will be staffed by child minders and will offer fun activities and entertainment for younger children.

The Teen Park will include an acrobatic show, break dance demos and lessons, gladiator jousting, a mechanical rodeo bull, bouncy horse racing, Foosball and Air Hockey tables. There will also be a partly shaded Chill Out Area where families can relax and re-energize.

K, Ray and the Bird and the Rob Thompson Trio are two of the confirmed bands to light up the Main Stage – suitable for adults, this zone includes fully stocked bars with a great selection of wines.

The drink stalls are geared towards the youngsters including a selection of juice stalls, ice tea providers and slush puppy machines. Keeping food options simple, FamFest offers good old-fashioned, hearty selections to keep both young and old going.

Health, Safety and Security are paramount and every child is given a wristband on entry, with parents/guardians asked to write their telephone numbers on the wristbands. There is a clearly visible meeting point, with announcements made throughout the day to ensure smooth operations. There is also on-site medic.

Tickets are available from www.quicket.co.za/events/1850-famfest/, however there will be limited tickets at the gate on the day. Tickets for the Open Air Cinema Screening can be purchased separately to the festival ticket or as a package.

  2. This sounds like so much fun! And just what I have been searching for to make the most of the last of the sunshine!
Pls pls pls pick me, this is something that my entire family will thoroughly enjoy!!!
    Fingers crossed!

  3. endless fond memories of camping with family … exploring, river-rafting, snuggling in a caravan during stormy nights doing puzzles & drawing, laughing, telling jokes.

  4. We went camping at soetwater and it was so windy that when we woke up the tent was gone (with the wind) LOL we eventually found it floating away in the beach. I remembered laughing so hard that I was crying. So our holiday camping trip was cut short and we had to go home

  5. My favourite family memory is weekends at Dalebrook beach with my folks ,brothers and sisters.I swam like a fish and spent hours under the water with goggles and flippers looking for treasure in the tidal pool

  6. It will be an awesome family day out… Love the entertainment for the kids… give mommy a bit of a break, Lots of fresh air and playing outside was always were my best memories…

  7. Perfect timing, we’ve just moved to Cape Town and want to show our little girl the fun you can have in this city. My favorite memory is spending time with my family either hiking or sports and then popping into the local for cheese and rolls to picnic at home.
