WIN: 4 Family Tickets to BODY WORLDS in Cape Town

More than 42 million people in over 100 cities across the globe have seen the trailblazing BODY WORLDS exhibition series and soon the incredible BODY WORLDS Vital exhibition will be in Cape Town at the V&A Waterfront from today, 9 August, until 23 October 2016.

Presented by Discovery, BODY WORLDS Vital is a completely new exhibition and allows visitors to see how lifestyle choices affect the body. It features 16 new full body plastinates (including the unique floating couple for adult viewing only!) which have never been seen before in Cape Town as well as over 160 organs, body parts and transparent body slices, which show the human body’s keenly intelligent design allowing visitors to explore how it functions and see what happens when disease strikes!

The intriguing Anatomical Mirror will also make it’s debut in Cape Town – a remarkable technology that mimics the visitor’s body movements and virtually peels back layers of the human body to demonstrate the visitor’s anatomical structure. This fascinating demonstration will teach both young and old whilst also inspiring layman or seasoned healthcare professional.

“As an organisation that continually looks for new ways to help people live healthier lives, we believe Dr Gunther von Hagens’ groundbreaking preservation process offers people a real-life opportunity to experience the wonder of the human body,” Discovery Health CEO, Dr Jonathan Broomberg.

Body Worlds (Vital) really brings everyone face to face with their own mortality and shows that we are all really a complex assemblage of bones, muscles, blood vessels, nerves and other tissue: a humbling thought.

Brought to South Africa by Cape Town-based Great World Exhibitions, the bodies on display have been willed by donors who want to increase the public’s awareness of the human body. To date, more than 15,000 donors from around the world have bequeathed their bodies after death to Dr. von Hagens’ Institute for Plastination.

She writes about travel, health, beauty, fashion, decor and family... but not food (unless it's food she's eaten made by someone else) as she is a hopeless cook. She only wakes up early for 2 things... a red-eye flight to somewhere exotic and early morning game drives. She has just finished an extensive home renovation and would prefer to never see another box again. She's never met a chocolate or glass of bubbles that she didn't like!

  1. This will be so wonderful, have read so much about it, now it might come true that I will see it.

  2. This would be fantastic to see, I am sure that we could all learn a lot from this exhibition.

  3. Can’t wait to see this with my boys – fascinating. I’ve shared on Facebook and via email.

  4. My daughter asked me for the tickets and I told her that we should cross fingers for this competition

  5. PLEASE, please let me win this!! I almost never get to take my son to any exhibitions, and he would go nuts for this one!! He is 8, and his fascination for the last year has been robotics used to help humans, particularly in biomechanics. All due to a Youtube clip on a man with a paralyzed arm regaining use of it with a mechanical aid.
So, please, please, let it be us!!
Oh yes, and I shared by email.
    Thanks!! 🙂

  6. ok now I get it gosh this is the form, yes I would love to take my sons Max and Levi to this exhibition, they have both seen the series of Autopsy videos which are extremely informative and this would be a fascinating addition to what they are so interested in already.
