The 2013 Pick n Pay Knysna Oyster Festival, taking place from 28 June to 7 July, the popular festival will be celebrating it’s 30th year and Pearl Anniversary!

This event features over 100 fab things to do… Among the highlights are the popular Oyster Shucking & Eating Competitions, wine tasting at The Knysna Wine Festival and Night Food Market, The Pick n Pay Flavours of Knysna gourmet evening and The Admiral’s Ball, plus plenty of fun family activities and sporting action, including the following:

Live concert and street parade by the South African Navy’s band
Pick n Pay Flavours of Knysna competition
Admiral’s Ball with the South African Navy’s dance band
Young Oyster Festival (for kids: art lessons, movie screenings, sport clinics, competitions, fun rides and more)
Annual oyster shucking (opening) and eating competitions
Knysna Wine Festival (showcasing nearly 40 first-rate local wine estates, including bubbly from the Cap Classique Association)

The Garden Route’s Premier Wine Event will again be taking place during the Pick n Pay Knysna Oyster Festival on 1 & 2 July. The event will showcase up to 50 of South Africa’s best wine producers and all these wines will all be available for tasting and purchasing at special event prices. The Knysna Wine Festival will be hosted in the Pick n Pay Festival Grounds on Waterfront Drive, located in the Heart of Knysna.

One of the country’s best whiskey presenter’s will also be showcasing the finest single malt whiskey’s from around the globe. With the Gourmet Food Market running outside the Pavillion. What better way to enjoy an evening than with fine wine, single malt whiskey and delicious Lindt chocolate truffles!
Tickets cost R100 per person and the event runs from 17:30 – 21h00 on Mon 1st and Tues 2nd of July.
