This week I am interviewing Marianna and Alla – the sisters behind lifestyle and fashion blog, Boguslavsky Sisters. Marianna and Alla document their lives in two different South African cities – Cape Town and Port Elizabeth. They are both passionate about sharing their fabulous fashion finds and favourite shops and looks.
Here they both share share their answers to my “What I…” questions!
First up – Marianna!
That travelling is one of the best investments for your soul. That sushi and wine is the perfect antidote to a crappy day. That best friends don’t have to live in the same city to be best friends. That there is nothing better than curling up with a good book, hot chocolate and a gorgeous man – lucky me, I have one of those 😉
My husband and my family (LOADS). My crazy friends. Fondue evenings with the girls. Really terrible reality TV. Wine farm hopping on a Saturday morning. Sushi lunches. Tweeting (can you say OCD?). Fashion blog trawling. Shopping (such a girl).
I’ve recently read the most incredible, beautiful (albeit disturbing) book by Torey Hayden (Ghost Girl). The author had previously worked as a special school teacher and a trained psychologist so her books reflect some of her experience with traumatised children. Strongly recommend reading one of her books.
For my family to live in one city (eventually this WILL happen). For now though, I will be satisfied with something more material…a new car! I said goodbye to my little Kia this past week-end and looking forward to some car shopping soon soon.
Currently been wearing loads of skirts…from pleated midi skirts, to mini black leather and mustard spandex skirts. Also addicted to buying coloured skinny jeans (It’s a trend, it will pass, but I just can’t help myself. Ugh.)
EIGHT HOURS OF SLEEP
Now is the turn of Alla….
Being independent is one of the most important gifts you can give to yourself. Learn to live on your own and take care of yourself (even if it does mean paying rent, doing your own laundry and learning how to cook).
The first sip of coffee in the morning, the first sip of smoothie after a tough workout, and the first sip of wine at the end of a long week.
I am addicted to buying the Cosmo, Glamour, and Women’s Health magazines every month and curling up on my couch with them. The next book I want to buy is “Winning Balance” – an autobiography by Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson.
Having just returned from three weeks in Italy, all I want right now is to go back! But in the greater scheme of things: I want to always have my family and friends close by. And I want to have enough money to travel at least once a year.
I like to keep my style pretty casual for work and dress up when I go out at night. In summer I live in my nude peep-toe heels and cute shorts. And in winter I live in my boots and cream leather jacket. And I never leave the house without lip gloss!
Thank you beautiful Boguslavsky sisters – it was great to share this space with you today!
