This week I’m sharing my space with a Cape Town based Mommy Blogger – Sarah – she writes about her life as a full-time stay-at-home mom living in the Mother City on her blog which goes by the name of The Mommy City!
Even best laid plans change. When you have children you have to learn to go with the flow and not sweat the small things. Trust your instincts because you do know best and don’t let others make you doubt yourself.
My family, tea, chocolate, catching up with good friends, staring out to sea, bubble baths and seeing people happy.
I haven’t read a book for myself for a while now. I stocked up on my usual crime/thriller novels when my daughter was first born but after reading a Kathy Reichs book about twin babies being murdered and having their hearts cut out for a ritual ceremony, I decided to stay with more light hearted material. So for my sanity, I now read books that don’t involve death or divorce and more blogs and child magazines.
To take my entire family for a holiday at the Mountain Zebra National Park. I have wonderful memories of this place as we visited it as a family when I was younger before my father passed away and I have been able to share new memories with my husband here. We love visiting SAN Parks and being out in nature and observing animals small and big, from crazy little squirrels to tracking cheetah on foot. I cannot think of anything more peaceful.
I usually wear jeans and a t-shirt and with the colder weather I’m accessorising with scarves. I’m not nearly as adventurous as I used to be. The favourite item in my wardrobe are my Tsonga leather boots.
Sleep, lots and lots of sleep.
