The diversity of bloggers across South Africa is one worth celebrating – mommy, beauty, fashion, tech, food and travel bloggers all making their mark on the internet world of SA. I’m fortunate to blog across a number of different topics which means I’ve been lucky enough to meet bloggers from almost all of these niches in real life at various events.
Last year I was finally able to meet Rose, who I have been following for ages on social media.
Based on the Garden Route, Rose writes Gotravelbug. This is her platform to share her road trips on roads less travelled, off the beaten track wanderings and paths less explored. She loves sharing the secrets of southern Africa and her adventures on foot, horseback, bicycle or in her trusty Opel Corsa that pretends to be a 4 x 4.
Armed with a camera, a backpack and inquisitive mind Rose loves to uncover the culture, history, food and facts of this diverse country.

What I…
Know
Life is about passion, without it I can’t survive. I love to live life curiously and to the full. As I look back at my life so far, I see the richness of it and the path I have embraced – including the struggles and the joys. So many special moments in everything I experienced. Travel to me is more about filling my life with wisdom, the knowledge of culture, nature, and adventure, with these in place, I go through life as a dreamer and an explorer. My foundation is family, friends and the support they give me.
Love
Travel and approaching life with a different mindset. I love evolving as a woman, a traveller and as an individual. Although not always the easiest path, I know what fulfills me as a person and I love to dream outside the lines of modern society.
Read
Historical fiction, fantasy and researching natural phenomena.
Want
To pack my bags and travel forever, to tick off my bucket list with an around the world trip to places I would love to see and experience. I want to live life simply earthed and honest. If this is not possible? I want to live and explore my own backyard and carefully observe my own environment with the curiosity of a 5-year-old. I want to be an eternal student.
Wear
My trusty pair of jeans in any form, short or long, flip flops for summer and leather boots for winter, oh and sneakers for when I fly (paraglide), hike and ride. Added to this a simple T-shirt and a warm jacket.
Need
A warm bed, family, a few good friends, food, my camera, my toys for playing outside, a great sense of humour and my imagination. With these, I can achieve most things
