I love my “What I…” series as it’s such an interesting way to connect with my fellow bloggers and get to know them a little bit, but what’s even better is meeting one of them in real life (IRL) and making a new friend. I recently met Natasha, a “mommy blogger” who writes over at Raising Men, at an event we both attended and enjoyed spending the afternoon chatting about our kids and blogging. She has recently moved from Jo’burg to Cape Town and is keen to start taking advantage of all our beautiful city has to offer her family – such as the beach and forest – although she has had to ease her boys into this, those kind of places can be scary for first time visitors!!
Here Natasha shares her answers to my questions. Take it away!
What I…
Know
Family and good friends mean everything to me. My kids mean the world to me. I can’t even remember what I did with my time before they arrived. Marriage is not always easy. Being a mother is not without it’s challenges. Nothing is as it seems. Most people will disappoint you at one point or another. Love makes my world go round. My boys make my heart pump candy floss. They are just too cool and rock my world.

Love
Taking things back to basics. Everything is too fast and complicated these days. I like sending hand-written letters, licking stamps, talking to strangers, cooking from scratch, keeping a journal. I refuse to get a flat screen tv or a blackberry, even M-net doesn’t exist in my house. I don’t even have Internet on my phone, it can’t even take or receive pictures. I love simplicity. Old things.

Read
I still haven’t finished ‘Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close’, but I’m getting there. I don’t get enough time to read, which I resent. Graeme bought me the May issue of Marie Claire as he knows how much I love Zooey Dechanel (on the cover) and that was a week ago. I’m dying to read it.

Want
People to be nice to each other and kids and animals and the earth in general. It’s so simple really. Just be nice to each other. You know?

Wear
I like old things, I own a lot of second-hand clothes, dresses and I do love the simple cuts of the clothes at Hello Again, and Vertigo. Lots of plain clothes. I am a fan of high-waisted skirts and vests.

Need
Space. I’m a bit of a loner, I enjoy my own company. I need loads of alone time. I also really NEED nature. Trees, fields, forests, oceans. Need.

Thanks Natasha for taking part – it was lovely to find out more about you and I hope we bump into each other again sometime soon!
