Every second week I try to feature a NEW South African blogger that I’ve stumbled across in my travels across the local blogosphere.
Today I’m featuring Nadine who is a travel & lifestyle blogger over at Living it up CT
She describes herself as having eternal wanderlust and loves international travel, road trips and weekend getaways where she indulges her loves for great food and wine.
I know that whatever challenges life throws your way, you have to get back up and keep moving forward.
I know that it’s ok to ask for help from others when you just can’t do it all by yourself.
I know that it’s important to not sweat the small stuff, but sometimes I need to remind myself of that.
I know that even though my hubby and I never wanted children, being blessed with a healthy baby boy 9 years ago was the best gift ever.
I know that with self-belief, determination and the love and support of family and friends, anything is possible. I know that we need always need to be kind to one another. I know that we need to stop taking our beautiful planet for granted and do everything in our power to protect our precious resources, for us and future generations.
I love sssooo many things! I absolutely love exploring Cape Town. After living here for more than 12 years, I’m still discovering new places and spaces. There is nothing better than being a tourist in your hometown, especially the gorgeous Mother City.
I love going on road trips and exploring the little towns and villages in the Western Cape and beyond. Wanderlust is my middle name and I could seriously hop on a plane and travel the world! I was fortunate to travel to many countries when I was in the travel industry.
I love that hubby and I took the plunge and spent 4 amazing years living in the Cayman Islands.
I love the beach, taking long walks while listening to the soothing sound of the ocean – it’s my happy place.
I love the sound of falling rain.
I love spending time in nature and going on mountain and forest hikes.
I love sitting beside a roaring fire and always make sure that our cottage has one when we go on weekend getaways.
I love taking photographs.
I love going to markets and wine events in and around Cape Town – they’re so much fun!
I love eating amazing food and drinking great wine (Pinotage is a fave of mine) as well as bubbly.
I love my crazy family, friends and cats dearly.
I love laughing and there is nothing better than the sound of my son’s laughter when we make silly jokes together.
I love entering competitions, winning fab prizes and sharing them with friends and family.
I love car karaoke and singing loudly while driving about. Hardly anyone does it – I’m not quite sure why as it’s great fun!
Ok, I’ll stop now as there are just far too many things that I love!
Since beginning my blog nearly a year ago, I haven’t made the time to read as much as I did before.
I enjoy reading other peoples blogs, especially travel blogs, as you learn so much from them.
I can spend hours getting lost in travel books and magazines and dreaming about my next destination.
I find reading other peoples’ stories and journeys to be inspirational.
I also enjoy a fast-paced thriller and just for fun when I don’t want to think too much, a good bit of fiction.
I want to travel the world! I love exploring South Africa but also have a love for international travel. My travel bucket list is VERY long and I’d love to tick off as many destinations as I can. Our next overseas trip will be with our son as he hasn’t travelled internationally yet. Prague is high up on that list as my parents are from the Czech Republic and I’d love to share my heritage with my hubby and son.
During summer, it’s usually pretty dresses or tank tops and shorts with flip flops or sandals. In winter, I’m a jeans with boots, jerseys, scarves and bomber jacket kind of girl. Or a coat if it’s really cold. I love dressing up but don’t often get the opportunity. When I do, I love to wear a cocktail dress with killer heels!
To explore the world. Get an amazing camera and learn to use it to take gorgeous photos.
To slow down sometimes, relax and enjoy the ride.
My home to be my haven. Peaceful, safe and filled with what is most important in my life – my family.
