A beautiful new mommy blogger is featured in my What I… blogger interview today.

Monique writes Letters to my Wildling, a blog where she shares her thoughts and letters to her son, the wilding, otherwise known as Aryan!

Monique has a passion to write and her blog is a place where she shares her joys, sorrows, fears, accomplishments and adventures.

What I…

Nothing lasts forever…

No amount of pain, suffering or heart ache lasts forever. No matter the storm, at the end of it there’s always a rainbow.

This simple realization has helped me live my life to the fullest. I take nothing for granted and see every moment as a blessing and every bit of pain as a learning curve. As a mother my journey has been filled with so many ups and downs, but as I look back I can clearly see the rainbows and the storms are just a faded memory.

Oh there is so many things that I love so this is a tricky one.

I love being a mom, being a mom is the best! There is no greater feeling in the world than having Aryan’s little arms around my neck, to hear his giggles and to watch his long eyelashes flicker as he sleeps.

I also love reading and writing. Reading and writing has always been my “escape plan”, the things I go to when life gets a little too much to re-charge and get myself together.

I love quietness. It must be the introvert in me, but I need that little bit of peace and quiet every day to help me catch that second breath.

I love kids and teaching, and therefore I love my job as a teacher. They say do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life… I can testify that this is true indeed.

This one should probably be at the top, but leave the best for last right?! I love Papa God. He has helped me through so much, and I honestly have no idea where I would have been today if it wasn’t for Him.

I’m a HUGE Francine Rivers and William P Young fan and have read basically all of their books, but I’m always on the lookout for a new addition. I’m an old soul when it comes to reading and are one of the few people who still prefer reading proper paperback books instead of the digital versions, mainly because I love to study the books. I always read with a bunch of highlighters and pens. My favorite book by far has to be EVE by William P Young and The Lion Series by Francine Rivers.

There’s not much that I physically want… I’m very blessed with what I have… BUT

I want  to raise a strong, kind, gentle and God fearing boy who could one day be the man I would want in my daughter’s life.

I want my boy to be confident and a voice to the voiceless one day.

I want to be the best mother I could possibly be, and I want my boy to be happy and safe.

I want to make an impact on the kids in my class’ life that will last for a lifetime.

I want to take my blog to the next level.. I want to inspire and motivate other moms and I want to be a voice for moms who need one.

Oh, I’m definitely a jeans, t-shirt and sneakers kind of girl. Those 3 items pretty much complete my wardrobe. I have no specific brand or shop that I like. If I like what I see and I feel comfortable in it, I will wear it.

Routine… I literally cannot function without it. Routine is everything and without it I feel lost, confused and easily get irritated or exhausted.

My phone! Gosh this sounds horrible, but really. My phone is with me 24/7. I use it for everything – shopping, as a camera, for editing, currently for online teaching, staying connected, my blog… everything!

Coffee!! Lots of it!

A larger phone memory… for my katrillion photos and gazillion videos that I REALLY need to (another need) put onto a backup drive, but just don’t get the time to do.

My crazy, wacky friends and family. They keep me going. I believe that a giggle a day keeps the sadness away. I love being goofy and enjoy a good laugh. My days would be empty without my family and friends.

Kathryn is a South African lifestyle blogger and mom of 2 who has been blogging daily for over 9 years! She writes about travel, health, beauty, fashion, decor and family... but not food (unless it's food she's eaten made by someone else) as she is a hopeless cook. She only wakes up early for 2 things... a red-eye flight to somewhere exotic and early morning game drives. She has just finished an extensive home renovation and would prefer to never see another box again. She's never met a chocolate or glass of bubbles that she didn't like!
