Socrates said, “One thing I know and that is that I know nothing”. It seems a bit arrogant to start with a philosophy quote, but it is a saying I heard at University and it stuck with me ever since. It reminds me never to be arrogant in what I think I know about things, which opens me up to so much new knowledge and experience.
Learning. I’m a total geek, I love coming across new theories and thoughts, or teaching myself new techniques. That is one of the reasons I’m so excited about being online – it is a completely new, mostly undiscovered form of media. And of course I love writing (and people reading what I write), reading, singing, eating great food, drinking fine wine (and whiskey), travelling and spending time with my friends and family.
Lots of things. I am currently busy with J.K. Rowling’s new novel, The Cuckoo’s Calling (which was written under the pseudonym, Robert Galbraith) – it’s brilliant so far. I’m not too picky about genres, but I’m a big fan of fiction, science fiction and fantasy. I find it amazing that as a reader I am able to climb into a world that someone created through their imagination. I also really love classic Victorian literature and Neo-Victorian literature, as well as autobiographies.
More time. I am constantly anxious that I am not getting to everything in life; that there are load of things I am missing out on. I wish I had more time to make music, drink wine, travel, cook, read, hike, eat, see the ocean everyday and spend time with everyone I love.
Skinny jeans, tailored jackets, cotton shirts, printed tee’s, cool sweatshirts and hoodies and a lot of scarves. It really depends on my mood, the weather, and where I’m going that day. I want clothes that are good quality and won’t go out of fashion too quickly. I’m also really want clothes that are comfortable but still flattering.
To join a gym, break up with cheese and stop cheating on my healthy diet with chocolate and butter popcorn. I also need coffee every now and then, and sleep. But otherwise I am pretty happy with where I am.
