What I… Kerry from Fabulicious Fifty

I love discovering different blogs – and today I have a wonderful one to share with you, especially those of you who are more, ahem, mature 😛

Kerry is a 50-something blogger who writes over at Fabulicious Fifty She started blogging over 5 years ago as a way to celebrate her fifties and find ways to be fabulous. (Ed: LOVE that!)

Kerry admits that it wasn’t the brightest time in her life as she was recently separated and seriously struggling with her health. Her blog was about her journey to finding balance with the added bonus of encouraging women over 50 that they can be fabulous no matter what curveballs life throws at them.

Kerry’s blog is divided into three distinct categories:

  • How to look fabulous
  • How to feel fabulous
  • Fabulous reads

To find out more about Kerry’s confidence journey, including the challenges of mental and physical health, a separation and weight struggles read on below and don’t miss out on her beautiful blog!

What I…

I know that the human spirit is incredibly strong.  I have been through so much in my life, including a big move from South Africa to Ireland (I have a good post which we can link here, it is in fact my most read post).
I write about overcoming life’s curveballs and the truth is we all face curveballs, even though they may look different.  It is all about how we face these challenges.  We are strong and with the support of friends and family we can overcome and find the joy.
At the moment the world is facing a massive curveball in the shape of Corona Virus and how we are rallying is evidence of the strength of the human spirit.

I love reading. I love a good hot bubble bath. I love tea and cake – especially shared with a good friend.  I love community, and this is both online and offline. Since moving I have really learned to appreciate technology and how it keeps us all connected.

I am an eclectic reader.  I read about three books a week, mostly on my Kindle.  I have started reviewing books on my blog now and keeping a book journal.  What it has shown me so far is that I am a bit random.  I enjoy a good romantic yarn, I love psychological thrillers, books about reinvention, and books about animals.  Oh and of course history and a bit of fantasy.  My virtual book shelves are full!

Oooh what do I want?  I would love to live a simple life in a sunny country where I could go for a long walk every day, eat fresh food and swim in the sea.  I also really want to get my book finished and be a published author.

I love clothes, and even when I was much bigger, I had a wardrobe packed full of colour and style.  I love fifties clothes with funky prints and full skirts.  Over the past 18 months I have last a third of my body weight – which is massive – and now I have started buying a new wardrobe.  My shape has changed so much I am finding myself trying new things like skinny jeans!

What do I need?  That is an interesting one.  I am really happy in myself.  My health isn’t great so I would seriously like to improve that.  Unfortunately some of the conditions I am living with will not change so I simply get on with it.  If I won the lottery I would buy a house in the sunshine, but otherwise my daily needs are met and for that I am very grateful.

Kathryn Rossiter

Kathryn is a South African lifestyle blogger and mom of 2 who has been blogging daily for over 9 years! She writes about travel, health, beauty, fashion, decor and family... but not food (unless it's food she's eaten made by someone else) as she is a hopeless cook. She only wakes up early for 2 things... a red-eye flight to somewhere exotic and early morning game drives. She has just finished an extensive home renovation and would prefer to never see another box again. She's never met a chocolate or glass of bubbles that she didn't like!
