What I… Karen from Mommy in Cape Town

I first met Karen a few years ago when she was involved with working in bloggers in her role in PR and I was pleasantly surprised to discover she has now ventured into the blogging world herself by starting up Mommy in Cape Town

This lovely site is aimed at moms with younger kids and features fabulous craft ideas, entertainment options, restaurant reviews and book reviews plus a whole lot more!

Read on below to find out more about Karen and her blog in this What I… blogger interview

What I…

No matter how old you are, you are never ready to lose a parent.
Humans should look at ways to be more at one with nature and stop destroying.

I love wine.
I love being creative and being around creative people. These past few years I have really missed being creative and being in an environment that encourages self expression.
The smell of the ocean and rain.
My daughter (but that is a given)

I am part of a Book Club with a group of wonderful ladies. Each lady is so different and has different interests. This has led me to read books from genres and authors I would never have read. I am currently reading: Abundance by Sena Naslund.

To find my calling in life. I’m currently on a “time-out” from the corporate world and I’m looking for my next step, whatever it may be.
I want my daughter to look back in her childhood and have many, many memories of happiness.
I also want young girls to know that they are stronger and more capable than they know.

I’m the opposite of a fashion influencer. I live in my mom uniform of jeans and t-shirt.
I choose to support small local manufacturers and brands.
I love one off piece designs and products.
I choose to buy clothes that are made with natural fabrics.
Recently I have started to buy vintage pieces and have gone to a clothes swop party.

A holiday!

Kathryn Rossiter

Kathryn is a South African lifestyle blogger and mom of 2 who has been blogging daily for over 9 years! She writes about travel, health, beauty, fashion, decor and family... but not food (unless it's food she's eaten made by someone else) as she is a hopeless cook. She only wakes up early for 2 things... a red-eye flight to somewhere exotic and early morning game drives. She has just finished an extensive home renovation and would prefer to never see another box again. She's never met a chocolate or glass of bubbles that she didn't like!
