What I… Jude from Colour Giggles

This week it’s the turn of Jude from Colour Giggles to share her answers in my blogger interview series. Jude is based in Durban and is mama to two (one only a few weeks old!) and blogs about all things bright, beautiful and COLOURFUL. Her blog is a really happy place!

What I…

That I am truly truly blessed with a husband that loves me and our two children with all his heart, who makes our little monkey laugh from the bottom of her belly which in turn sets me off. I know that I’m blessed with two beautiful and healthy children and that I need to thank God every day for this. I know that I need to sometimes slow down, put my computer off and focus on my family more. I know that there are days that I need to be more grateful for everything we have – a roof over our heads, a beautiful garden our kids can run around barefoot in, living in a country where the sun shines so often, and a job that I love. I also know that I have to stop eating chocolate if I’m to lose this pregnancy weight!

Chocolate! I love being a mom, but also love working and the challenges that work brings. I love bright colours, gerbera flowers, cute little baby socks, the smell of jasmine & hot summer days. I love hearing my little girl giggle with her friends, I love how my new born snuggles into my neck. I love making things, crafting, and being around creative people. Sharing South African creative talent though my website www.jamtin.co.za.

I love all things handmade. I love our lifestyle, our nanny who makes our lives ridiculously easy. I love getting lost in a good book, going to the Eastern Cape for holidays, eating cupcakes, a meal out with my husband, and a glass of wine with old friends.

When I can (normally 10 minutes at bed time before passing out) I read a variety of books from autobiography’s, to drama’s to crime novels and bits and pieces in between. I also love reading blogs – mostly Mommy blogs and creative blogs.. I do most of my reading off my Ipad – both blogs and on the Kindle. I just need to work out how to read from the Kindle in the bath.

To learn to balance my time better, to lose myself in special moments more often without worrying about what else is going on. I want to exercise more, actually, more honestly, I want to enjoy exercising more, I want my house to be tidier, and my wardrobe trendier, but more than anything I really really really want my children and family to stay healthy and happy.

Jeans and flip flops, not a lot of make up. I’m more of a bright colour gal, than a black, white or neutral.

Like most moms I need just a few extra hours in the day to keep juggling family, work and even me time.. I need to spend more time with my kids, they just grow too fast, I need to believe in what I do on those days when things aren’t going to plan, I need to remember that everything has a season and to enjoy what each of these seasons bring, the good with the bad. I need to pamper myself more, and feel less guilty when I do. I also need to start blogging more frequently again 🙂

Thanks Jude for taking the time to share your answers whilst in the midst of new babydom!

Kathryn is a South African lifestyle blogger and mom of 2 who has been blogging daily for over 9 years! She writes about travel, health, beauty, fashion, decor and family... but not food (unless it's food she's eaten made by someone else) as she is a hopeless cook. She only wakes up early for 2 things... a red-eye flight to somewhere exotic and early morning game drives. She has just finished an extensive home renovation and would prefer to never see another box again. She's never met a chocolate or glass of bubbles that she didn't like!
