What I…

I know that I need goals to strive towards to keep me happily moving forward. Life for me is about constantly learning, evolving and growing. I look at life as one big adventure and learning experience. As the saying goes it’s not about the final destination, but about the journey. I’m striving to find more flow on this journey.

My family and my life. I have so much to be thankful for and feel truly blessed. The love I feel for my son is so deep, I never realised a Mother’s love could be so consuming. Every decision I now make I think in terms of how it will impact him first and foremost. I will certainly be one of those Mama bears looking out for her boy.

I also love travelling to scenic or historically appealing destinations. My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful month-long honeymoon in Thailand and Vietnam. What an adventure!

Thank goodness for the invention of the Kindle otherwise my house would be bursting at the seams with books! I enjoy both both fiction and non-fiction books. If I find it enthralling and it grabs my attention I will devour a book as quickly as possible! My favourite authors include Liane Moriarty and Diane Chamberlain. Their stories have great plots and twists that keep you guessing about what will happen next. A non-fiction book I recently enjoyed was Game of Crowns by Christopher Andersen. For those of you who follow the British royal family it is a must read of delectable royal gossip!

Plenty of income producing assets, to earn me income while I sleep. This will free up my time and then I will then be able to spend more time with my family and go on more travel adventures!

A range of clothing depending on my mood and circumstances. I can do super casual, to corporate, to dressing up for a night out or a special occasion. I do love wearing colours and I’m not particularly brand conscious therefore am happy to shop at a variety of chain stores.

After giving birth to my son, I realised that I need to let go of my independent streak and ask for more help. I’ve always been very hands-on and taken pride in my ability to get things done. But having a reflux baby who didn’t do anything on schedule forced me to take a step back and let go of control. I’m realising when you stretch yourself too far you end of feeling stressed, you invariably get sick, you crack and basically become the opposite to what you are striving for! These days I’m learning to let go more and to ask for more help!

Kathryn Rossiter

Kathryn is a South African lifestyle blogger and mom of 2 who has been blogging daily for over 9 years! She writes about travel, health, beauty, fashion, decor and family... but not food (unless it's food she's eaten made by someone else) as she is a hopeless cook. She only wakes up early for 2 things... a red-eye flight to somewhere exotic and early morning game drives. She has just finished an extensive home renovation and would prefer to never see another box again. She's never met a chocolate or glass of bubbles that she didn't like!
