What I… Germarie from Playing House

Today is the turn of Germarie from Playing House to take part in my What I… interview series! She is a mom of 2 boys and 2 dogs, a wife, an interior designer and an aspiring cook who lives on a farm outside Franschoek (yes, hard not to hate her for that!) Her blog is all about creating a child-friendly home – inside and out. Find out more about her here….

What I…

Know

Kids have this amazing ability to bring the child out in anyone.
Passion is an essential ingredient for any type of success.
Women can truly have it all.
If you are not happy with something in your life you should change it immediately.
If you place a marshmallow in the microwave for too long, it will explode. So will an egg.

Love

My kids, my husband, my life.
Making or finding cool stuff and then writing about it.
Coffee {this is more of an addiction than a love really…}
Tea. In pretty cups.
Floral anything.
Rice. I don’t really know what to say about this, other than it’s a remnant of my life in Asia.

Read

A design magazine every now and again.
Eckardt Tolle
JM Barrie’s Peter Pan
The boy who cried Ninja by Alex Latimer – every night at the moment…

Want

To always remember what I enjoy most about blogging and being a working mom: being at home with my family.

Wear

I live on a farm and I have 2 boys. So as much as I LOVE getting dressed up in frilly floral frocks, I end up in jeans and gumboots on most days.

Need

A bigger studio and more coffee – addiction, like I said.

Kathryn Rossiter

Kathryn is a South African lifestyle blogger and mom of 2 who has been blogging daily for almost 7 years! She writes about travel, health, beauty, fashion, decor and family... but not food (unless it's food she's eaten made by someone else) as she is a hopeless cook. She only wakes up early for 2 things... a red-eye flight to somewhere exotic and early morning game drives. She has just finished an extensive home renovation and would prefer to never see another box again. She's never met a chocolate or glass of bubbles that she didn't like!
