What I…
Know:
Is that life is too short to not follow your passion. All my life I dreamt about adventure and travel, seeing new places and meeting people from all walks of life and telling stories to the people I love. Life is also too short to be stuck in one career forever, get out there and try a whole bunch of stuff it will make you more interesting and perhaps a travel writer will one day tell your story.
Love:
Early morning walks on the beach in summer followed by a swim regardless of the temperature of the water. I love warm summer evenings and being with my family around a table full of food and wine. I love the early morning sound of the bush and the silence that descends on you when you arrive. I love road trips and watching scenery roll past the window.
Read:
All types of books, magazines, blogs, cookbooks; anything I can get my hands on. I love reading stories about Africa and the bush such as “A Game Ranger Remembers” by Bruce Bryden. I love novels and fiction for when you are relaxing in the bush or on the beach or during a long plane ride. There are few things in life more relaxing and entertaining than reading.
Want:
To be able to travel to each and every corner of the world exploring, discovering, meeting interesting people and telling their stories. I want to one day own an olive farm in the karoo or a game lodge in the Eastern Cape and spend my days writing stories and watching every sunrise and sunset.
Wear:
My heart on my sleeve. I also am most comfortable in a pair of shorts and flip flops.
Need:
To live simply, eat well and never have to sit in traffic. I need to live somewhere where I can always see the big blue sky and the horizon. I always need to have olives in fridge, a good bottle of wine and a moleskin notebook.
