What I… Clouds from And Lollipops

Today in my What I… Blogger interview series I am featuring Clouds Drummond from And Lollipops. She is based in Cape Town and lives by the motto “Celebrate the good things in life: love, laughter and the healing power of shoes”. Here she shares some insights into her life while answering 6 questions – What I… Know, Love, Read, Want, Wear, Need.

What I….

Know
Every day carries the potential for me to be a better version of myself.
Gratitude opens the floodgate to universal abundance.
Where I am, is where I’m meant to be.
Education is the key to a world of opportunity.
Doubt means No.
If it makes me happy, it’s right.
If I’ve had my eye on something for awhile, it’s in my size and on sale, then it’s been waiting just for me.
Fashion costs, style doesn’t.
Everyone has an ounce of creativity inside them which is waiting to be discovered and nurtured.
We’re richly blessed if we can breathe, walk, speak, read, hear, see, touch and feel.
Life’s all about the small victories and little pleasures.

Love
Style above fashion; my family above all else.
Black stilettos because they’re timeless.
A killer cocktail at Balducci’s aptly called ‘The Red Stiletto’ and the ‘White Chocolate Cosmopolitan at La Vie.
A double skinny latte from Vida e Cafe; the boys at Constantia Village ring up my order as soon as I park my car.
Champagne; its best suited for drinking at any time of day.
Coco Chanel; her style has transcended time more so than any other designer.
My husband; he grounds me, his smile lights a room and his hugs make the world ok. And he looks pretty hot in a kilt.
My sister for being able to tell me the truth about myself without offense. I describe her as the other half of a botttle of bubbles.
My mom for her unfailing faith.
Denim jeans; they’re the best creation ever.
London; its a cultural melting pot with a heartbeat which pulsates through the pavement.
Traveling – then coming home.
My home; it feels as though it rises to greet me whenever I walk in.
All my iStuff, I’ve become an Apple junkie.
Social media.
Cape Town because it is and will always be my home.
South Africa; my blood is definitely green and gold.
Inner beauty.
Starting the day early with a cup of coffee and opening my journal onto a fresh page.
The sound of laughter.
Watching fire.
Water in any form, ice in a glass, hot showers, long bubble baths, swimming in the ocean.
My blog, it’s growing beautifully.
Creativity.
Architecture – my first love – especially old cities steeped in history and culture.
French and Italian street style.
Fashion illustrations; Ruben Toledo is my new favourite
I’ll stop now;-)

Read
Inspirational autobiographies and travel journals.
Books which celebrate beauty and special moments; my favorites are Romancing The Ordinary by Sarah Ban Breathnach, The Goddess Guide and The Goddess Experience by Gisele Scanlon.

Want
The world to be big enough for elephants and whales; they’re just so graceful in their enormity.
Children to live pain-free.
Respect for the planet and human life.
To travel more.
To always keep my word impeccable.
Slimmer hips.
A different pair of Christian Louboutin shoes for every day of the year.

Wear
Jeans and heels. It’s so easy. Believe it or not, I’m a lazy dresser. And after 12 years in the ad industry, I’ve mastered the art of running in heels.
Earrings, lipgloss and perfume even to the corner cafe. Coco Chanel once said; “A woman who doesn’t wear perfume doesn’t have a future.” And there’s always the possibility of bumping into an ex;-)

Need
Camera and phone batteries which never run down.
Balance.
To continue growing creatively and spiritually.
To eat less so I can fit into my Victoria Beckham jeans again and to perfect her signature pose;-)

Thanks so much Clouds for taking part in my series…. Want to find out more? Why not follow her via Twitter @cloudsdrummond.

Kathryn is a South African lifestyle blogger and mom of 2 who has been blogging daily for over 9 years! She writes about travel, health, beauty, fashion, decor and family... but not food (unless it's food she's eaten made by someone else) as she is a hopeless cook. She only wakes up early for 2 things... a red-eye flight to somewhere exotic and early morning game drives. She has just finished an extensive home renovation and would prefer to never see another box again. She's never met a chocolate or glass of bubbles that she didn't like!
