What I… Cindy Alfino from 3 kids, 2 dogs and 1 old house

After a brief break you’ll be pleased to know that the What I… blogger interview series is back! I know I’ve missed it and I hope you have too.

Today I’m interviewing a mommy blogger I met at a recent event (Loot Blogger Bake Off). Cindy Alfino blogs about her life over at 3 kids, 2 dogs and 1 old house…. which pretty much sums up what her blog is about!

Life is full to bursting and we try and enjoy every crazy second of it.  When I’m not working as an Insurance Broker (who chooses to do that anyway) or actively parenting our brood, I blog about surviving parenting (even if some days it doesn’t feel like it), home reno and our explorations of all the amazing things that happen in and around Cape Town.

What I..
That there is no substitute for good coffee, good wine or good company.
The smell of freshly mowed grass, Milo, hearing my baby boy practice saying Mamma, anything that has potatoes in it, exploring Cape Town, listening to my girls chatting when they think I’m not listening, a good Shiraz, sleeping in, warming my toes in front of the fire, watching series after a long day, designing and redesigning our house with Seth and just chilling around the braai with family and friends.
I’d love to read far more novels than what I currently do (which is um, none), but I prefer dedicating my time to my blog.  But reading other blogs is really what I am enjoying the most right now – snippets of real life from people around me is so encouraging, especially when they are going through something similar to what I am.
To be permanently on holiday with my family with unending supplies of cash – we had so much fun this holiday (even though we didn’t have limitless cash).  But realistically, I want more gorgeous house embellishments that make our house feel even more like home, to travel the world starting with South Africa (we have so much to offer) and to have clear skin.
I am a bit like Two Face in terms of what I wear.  Because I work half day, I start the day off looking “pretty” in dresses or just basically acceptable for the office environment (need to work on my wardrobe going into 2014 though, I’m seriously outdated) but then I end up in cut off jean shorts and a t-shirt when I get home to my brood and then by the time Seth gets home, I’m in my pajamas rocking in the corner.
To manage my time better so that I can get to everything that I have over committed myself to and be able to eat what I want when I want it and it won’t affect me at all.

Thanks so much Cindy for giving us a window into your life and that of your gorgeous family – seems like so many of us moms “need” the same things! 😉

Kathryn Rossiter

Kathryn is a South African lifestyle blogger and mom of 2 who has been blogging daily for over 9 years! She writes about travel, health, beauty, fashion, decor and family... but not food (unless it's food she's eaten made by someone else) as she is a hopeless cook. She only wakes up early for 2 things... a red-eye flight to somewhere exotic and early morning game drives. She has just finished an extensive home renovation and would prefer to never see another box again. She's never met a chocolate or glass of bubbles that she didn't like!
