What I… Cassan Ferguson from Miss Cass Lee

This Wednesday I’m interviewing Cassan, a drama teacher, who writes over at Miss Cass Lee. She started her blog as a place to encourage and empower other women which I love! As a new mom to her little boy she shares stories that especially speak to other moms…

What I….

Know,

What I know is, is that life is too short to waste it on negative thoughts about ourselves and about others. If we get lost comparing ourselves to others, or trying to find weaknesses in others we just end up feeling miserable and never really grow or advance in our personal capacity. Focus on what you are doing, stay on your path, your journey, and do the best with whatever you find in your hands, to the season of life that you find yourself in.

Love,

I love God, and I love my church family at Hillsong Church.
I love my whole family dearly!
I love Sushi!
I am probably a Lindt addict!
I love taking Polaroid’s of fun memories!
I am obsessed with taking pictures of our son, Malakai!
I love teaching Drama to little kids at my Drama School, React Drama.
I love going to the beach on a Wintery day, and taking pictures of the moody sea!
I also love exploring our beautiful City and taking our nearly two year old son with us! Seeing how he interacts and engages with new sights with a sense of awe and wonder is one of the best things!
I love listening to Hillsong United’s Empires Album, I have it on repeat in my car!

Read,

At one stage I felt like I was so busy and absorbed with being online, that I found myself only ever reading online articles. I started reopening up some of my old favorite books, and I find myself getting lost in them. I started rereading one of my favorite plays “ The Seagull ” by Anton Chekov! It never gets old for me! Because I write plays as part of what I do for a living, I find that I draw inspiration when I am reading them and getting lost in the characters and the storylines!

Want,

I want to travel more with my little family! I want to expose our son to everything good that this world has to offer! I want him (our son) to grow up with a sense of knowing who he is, and what he is capable of. I never want him to fear dreaming big! I want to live a full life that is filled with building memories with my family, and friends!

I want to inspire and encourage others through what I do, whether it be through teaching drama, to writing online articles to writing plays! I want to know that what I brought to the world, made some sort of difference and impact in the hearts of others!

Wear,

I have been wearing my slip on shoes a lot lately, starting to feel like I live in them 24 /7 ! Plus, I absolutely adore my oversized scarf from Cotton on! It’s so snug; it literally feels like I am wearing a blanket around my neck! Along with my go to Zara coat and my favorite pair of Cotton on Skinny’s, then I’m good to go!

Need

I definitely need to work on my lack of exercise in my life! Because I have neglected this side of my health, I have been feeling so exhausted and easily stressed! When I used to exercise a lot, I used to feel full of life, physically strong and less stressed!

I am making space for that in my schedule now as we speak, so that I can work on that area! Which I am so excited about! So no excuses! Eak! I mean, Yay!

Kathryn is a South African lifestyle blogger and mom of 2 who has been blogging daily for over 9 years! She writes about travel, health, beauty, fashion, decor and family... but not food (unless it's food she's eaten made by someone else) as she is a hopeless cook. She only wakes up early for 2 things... a red-eye flight to somewhere exotic and early morning game drives. She has just finished an extensive home renovation and would prefer to never see another box again. She's never met a chocolate or glass of bubbles that she didn't like!

  1. I too am a mom and with todays politics, work drama and all the 24/7 motherly chores its hard not to get despondent at times. But I feel that our plan is small in comparison to Gods plan for us..He knew from the start how our lives would be. I too luuuv Hillsongs and my repeat button seems worn out lol. Exercise plays a big factor in our mental and physical attitude so I say yes: GO FOR IT! Remember that time always steals precious moments so enjoy the fam as much as you can..even a tickle to your child is worth a lot.
