What I… Candice-Lee from In My Bag

One of the perks of being invited to beauty launches and events is meeting the lovely ladies behind many of my favourite reads. I first met Candice-Lee while she was the Beauty Editor of Fairlady magazine and recently she left this position and has started a blog of her own called In My Bag, which has been growing in leaps and bounds. I have really been enjoying following her outfit posts and beauty editor tips and I’m sure you’ll also find it great reading. In the mean time here is a bit more about this “beauty-full” blogger!

What I….

Life is short and it’s so important to live in the moment.

Children are a blessing that add substance and meaning to life, while teaching you important lessons about yourself.

A neutral coloured trench coat, red lipstick and black sunglasses can make any woman look polished and sophisticated.

You have to wear sunscreen everyday to protect your skin.

My daughter, who no matter how sad, angry or moody I may be, always has the ability to make me laugh.

My longsuffering husband, who has an amazing ability to ignore my moods, carry out his duties as a father with total aplomb all while cooking dinner almost every evening.

My beautiful, gentle German Shepard Lilo – the most amazing animal on earth who is getting so old! My heart aches at the thought of losing her.

My vintage Christian Dior silk scarf given to me by my late mother.

My Louis Vuitton Speedy handbag bought for me by my husband on my 30th birthday.

My Miu Mui grey heels that I bought for R500 on a liquidation sale years ago.

Websites and blogs.

Internationally my favourites include:

A Piece of Toast
Into the Gloss

My local favourites are:

Mail & Guardian
Destiny Connect
The Gorgeous Gourmet
Lipgloss is my Life
Becoming You

I heart your Outfit

Discipline & Motivation! Especially when it comes to eating correctly and exercising. I have fantasies of being healthier and fitter, but translating that into real life is proving to be a bit of a challenge!

I love simple, classic and sophisticated pieces that can be worn again and again. I’m a big believer in investing in pieces that can be mixed and matched to create a wearable and workable, capsule wardrobe.

My key pieces include:
A little black dress
A white shirt
Great fitting pair of jeans
Trench Coat
Breton striped top
Gorgeous, sexy black heels
Pair of converse sneakers
A good quality leather bag in a neutral colour

More time – The older I get, the quicker time seems to pass!

Thanks for taking part Candice-Lee. I love your lists of what to read and what to wear – such great choices!
(and thanks for including BY!)

Kathryn Rossiter

Kathryn is a South African lifestyle blogger and mom of 2 who has been blogging daily for over 9 years! She writes about travel, health, beauty, fashion, decor and family... but not food (unless it's food she's eaten made by someone else) as she is a hopeless cook. She only wakes up early for 2 things... a red-eye flight to somewhere exotic and early morning game drives. She has just finished an extensive home renovation and would prefer to never see another box again. She's never met a chocolate or glass of bubbles that she didn't like!
