I recently came across a blog by Beatrice called Mademoiselle Nomad. Born in Mauritius and currently living in Cape Town, Beatrice is a tropical island girl turned sophisticated digital nomad!
Her blog is all about the art of sophisticated living which is essentially living a quality life filled with joy, refinement, beauty and all the things she loves (good food, great people, working remotely in pretty cafés)
Read on to find out more about her here…
What I….
Know
No matter what happens in life, whether I’m overwhelmed or things are falling apart and my world is shaken, I know that God is in control and I can simply be still and trust in Him. He makes the impossible become possible – I have seen it time and time again.
Love
I love so many things! I love LOVE itself. Not in the cheesy, romantic way. I mean real, true love. The kind you extend to a stranger on the bus, to the child smiling at you when you make a peek-a-boo, to the friends you’re blessed to count in your life, to family members that are always encouraging and the people you keep meeting on your journey.
I love tea, sunsets, travelling, writing, Cape Town, good food, macaroons, chocolate, pasta, the smell of rain, the smell of old books, notebooks, pretty stationary, coloured pens, poetry, pretty cards, red velvet cupcakes, high tea in fancy hotels, being in hotels and resorts, people, waking up every day and knowing I am alive, being alive, being able to write, the unique way in which I’ve been created (and all of us), God, my family, my friends, dancing salsa by the ocean, quiet time in nature.
I love The Royal Kittens – oh, no it’s not a band. They are the two kittens I adopted last year. I love quality time with them.
Read
Classics mostly and any books that have an element of French flair in them such as “At Home with Madame Chic” by Jennifer L. Scott and “French Women For All Seasons” by Mireille Guiliano.
Want
is to inspire others to live a beautiful life with refinement, elegance and sophistication, to dare to become the best versions of themselves, to be living proof that if you persevere and keep doing what you love and work hard at it, it will pay off. I also want to get my novels published this year.
Wear
The clothes I had in my suitcase when I moved from Switzerland and relocated to Cape Town two years ago (for the second time).
Need
New clothes. (I’m a petite, size 8-10 if anyone’s going shopping).
Thanks for taking part in my blogger interview series Beatrice!
