Weekend Wanderings: Nederburg Wine Estate, Paarl

Our last stop on a day trip to Paarl was an iconic South African wine farm, Nederburg.

It seems ridiculous to say that this was my first visit but it was… and afterwards, I wondered why!

Wine tasting with kids in tow doesn’t usually work but at Nederburg this wasn’t to be the case… because the kids were well catered for with their very own tasting experience too.

A mystery box arrived in front of each kid and they couldn’t contain their excitement…

Finally, a few seconds later, the contents was revealed… a tasting experience for kids!

Hot chocolate, pink milk, sweeties, biscuits, appletizer… plus a few activities to keep them busy like bubbles and colouring in things allowing the adults to enjoy their own tasting experience in peace on the other side of the tasting area!

As the day started getting cooler there was time for one more activity, a quick walk around the grounds of this historic estate to explore the gardens and take in the view of the manor house and grounds….

A grand end to a full day!

She writes about travel, health, beauty, fashion, decor and family… but not food (unless it’s food she’s eaten made by someone else) as she is a hopeless cook. She only wakes up early for 2 things… a red-eye flight to somewhere exotic and early morning game drives. She has just finished an extensive home renovation and would prefer to never see another box again. She’s never met a chocolate or glass of bubbles that she didn’t like!
