A few weeks back we spent a lovely weekend at the beautiful Mosaic Private Sanctuary and on our way home from Stanford we decided to take a detour just after Hermanus and turned off at the rather aptly named Hemel-en-Aarde Valley (meaning “Heaven on Earth” in Afrikaans for my international readers 😉 ) Once you take this road you’ll understand why…
As we would be passing right by Creation Wine Estate we phoned ahead to book a table for lunch so we could experience all the good things we had heard for ourselves! And we managed to get the very last one for lunch that afternoon.
Creation is situated overlooking the most magnificent mountains, valleys and vineyards PLUS it also has the most amazing wine and a delicious and menu. We loved how well thought out their wine and food pairing options were. To find out more about what they offer on their menu click here.
Another bonus was that there was a kids room located just off the restaurant where we could happily send our kids off to have some fun (unfortunately that didn’t last as long as we had hoped as the toys were more for babies and toddlers and many were broken so our 2 lost interest) BUT we still had the most amazing meal and the wine was indeed heavenly as the name would suggest!
We loved that while we were waiting for our food we were invited to try one or two extra wines at no extra charge – all done with amazing service by the competent staff. There is nothing worse that a beautiful venue and delicious food that is ruined by poor service, it really can ruin a lovely day out – and this was certainly not the case, in fact from the receptionist who took our booking to all the waiters who served us, the service was outstanding!
If you’re looking for a lovely lunch out in a new spot, especially for a special occasion due to the distance and prices, I highly recommend Creation.
