Breakfast at Cafe Bon Bon, Franschhoek

This week’s weekend wandering is short and sweet… because my visit to this destination was, unfortunately, far too short and I didn’t spend as much time here as I should have!

Not to worry… I’ll just have to return!! And in the meantime I’ll just have to whet your appetite!

After a busy visit to Franschhoek discovering gems such as Noble Hill, Haute Cabriere and La Residence the last destination on my itinerary was to be Cafe Bon Bon.

This was my first visit to this beautiful restaurant and it was easy to see why it’s a firm favourite with locals and regular visitors to the village… it has a cosy, warm atmosphere with a roaring fireplace, comfortable furnishings and lots of French country charm. I fell in love the minute I arrived.

My time was cut short but I did manage to make it my mission to return as soon as possible… for a long, lingering lunch under the shade of the oaks trees in summer, or for a delicious breakfast shared with the company of the resident rooster, Hendrik!

If you’re heading to Franschhoek be sure to book a table here for a meal (or three!)

I visited Cafe Bon Bon as an invited guest of Franschhoek Tourism. This post is unpaid and I was not obliged to write about my experience. I write reviews and feature beautiful places on my blog in order to inspire others to find new, exciting and different places to eat or stay at. All images and views are my own.

She writes about travel, health, beauty, fashion, decor and family... but not food (unless it's food she's eaten made by someone else) as she is a hopeless cook. She only wakes up early for 2 things... a red-eye flight to somewhere exotic and early morning game drives. She has just finished an extensive home renovation and would prefer to never see another box again. She's never met a chocolate or glass of bubbles that she didn't like!

  1. Isn’t it an amazing place!!! I cannot wait to return. Such a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the surroundings. You must have breakfast there! Oh, I am glad you got to meet Hendrik too! My sisters and I were so entertained by him at breakfast… and the resident owl!
