WIN: A UCOOK Christmas Feast Box #BYFestiveFinds

Christmas day is probably the most festive event of the year in our family, and so it should be!

It’s a day full of love, joy, laughter, friends, family and sunshine (in South Africa!)…. except it’s not always BECAUSE I’m horrible at cooking and a complete stress pot in the kitchen which has a knock on effect to the rest of the family as my anxiety and stress levels rise with the temperature of the oven!

On of my favourite discoveries for overcoming my fear of the oven was the arrival of the UCOOK food delivery boxes. These incredible boxes have taken South Africa by storm over the past few years, saving the sanity of moms like me every day!

UCOOK Christmas Feast Box

The idea behind UCOOK is that they take the guesswork and the schlepwork out of your day – buying, measuring and delivering all the ingredients for a selection of nutritious easy meals for your week.

UCOOK Christmas Feast Box

Last year they started something even better… delivery Festive Feast boxes containing everything you need for a Christmas meal without the stress of planning a menu or hitting the shops – and they do this ANYWHERE in South Africa – even your little sleepy seaside holiday spot!

UCOOK has taken all the drama out of Christmas this year with their UCOOK Feast Box – a complete Christmas meal-kit, packed with love and sent directly to your door on your choice of delivery days.

Now all you need to do this Christmas is to go online and curate your Festive Feast box to fit your number of guests, punch in your payment details and wait for it to arrive on your specified delivery date, complete with everything from garnishes to the main meat!

UCOOK Christmas

I reckon that the opportunity to avoid the carnage that is my local shopping mall from 20 – 24 December is well worth every penny!

The UCOOK Feast Box encompasses everything you love about a warm summer Christmas and their chefs have designed the menu to be as simple as possible so you can actually enjoy the day too!

They have sourced the highest quality, sustainable, ethical, free-range and locally produced ingredients.

Starter options include roasted figs enrobed in prosciutto as well as spinach and ricotta ravioli.

The main selection includes festive stuffed & deboned chicken, beef fillet tagliata, a delectable braised pork belly and a whole baked kob with lemon and dill.

Vegetarian customers can enjoy a summery Mediterranean vegetable tart.

You can then also order four from a selection of six sides to accompany the meal which includes: a green salad, classic roast potatoes, cheesy cauliflower grain, maple glazed carrots, bruleed baby onions and braised red cabbage.

And if that isn’t enough to tip you right over onto the couch, dessert is a splendid Eat ‘n Mess – a gorgeous combination of meringue, fresh berries, pistachios and cream.

I was recently invited to enjoy the UCOOK team to sample the dishes from their Feast Box and I can guarantee that this is set to be your most delicious Christmas yet! I LOVED their Roast Chicken, baby carrots, beef fillet, incredibly tasty baked potatoes and the onion side dish was delish! Not to mention that dessert – if I could have squeezed in seconds I would have (maybe thirds!)

Priced from R300 per head, the UCOOK Festive Box can be ordered for parties of 4, 8 or 12, and is available to order on from 14 November – 11 December 2018.

She has just finished an extensive home renovation and would prefer to never see another box again. She's never met a chocolate or glass of bubbles that she didn't like!

  1. What a stunning idea for the festive days!! Less time shopping mens more precious family time!
