Top 3 tips for when life gets overwhelming

We all have those days: you have a lot of work that needs to be done and so little time! You feel overwhelmed and sluggish, swamped by endless days full of responsibilities.

When these feelings take over the first to suffer is ourselves and our own mental health…

Luckily, with just a few simple tips, you can look and feel your best while getting everything done on time and lessening the load of the overwhelm.

Try these three points to treat yourself every day:

Tips for when life gets overwhelming

Get detoxing (the easy way)!

Yes, we’ve all heard it many times: You need to detox! Though, when your days are super busy and you need a lot of energy, detoxing can be hard.

Start with different parts of the day: If you know your evenings are generally less busy than the rest of your day try to replace your dinner with a healthy salad, fruits or even a smoothie. In no time, you will feel the difference. And, when you are ready, you can try to detox a full day.

Detoxing is not the same as fasting. You can still consume healthy foods and drinks, you are just cleaning your body. Detoxing is a great way to cleanse your body and feel good from the inside out.

Remember: You should never pressure yourself when it comes to your diet. It is important to consume the right amount of calories for your body type and size.

Invest in your skin

We all want that special glow, but, sometimes, it is just so hard to look after your skin.

With these two simple steps, you will have that golden glow every day (even when life gets really busy!):

  • Clean and scrub: Clean your face every night with a good cleanser. Don’t ever go to bed with your makeup on! This will clog your pores and cause your skin to break out. Once or twice a week, scrub your face with a quality scrub. Don’t overdo it! Gently scrub your face or neck with a scrub product. These removes dead skin cells that will leave you looking fresh every day.
  • Moisturise: After you have cleaned your face, moisturise with a product that suits your skin type. It is always good to buy a moisturiser that fits your skin type.

Organise your wardrobe

Out with the old! If you feel that your wardrobe needs a makeover, it probably does. So, start by organising your clothes. Throw out items that you no longer need and donate them to a charity of your choice.

Tip: You can also sell it to a second-hand clothing shop for an extra buck or two!

You don’t need a lot of money to invest in a new wardrobe. Many retailers sell great quality clothing for less. Ackermans clothing is a great example. They sell fashionable, non-branded clothing that is really affordable.

When you shop for new clothes, keep the season in mind and go for items that are versatile and comfortable. This way, you can mix and match your new clothes with items you already own.

It shouldn’t be difficult or expensive to look after (and spoil!) yourself. Take a few moments every day to invest in yourself. You will feel and look your best in just a few days!

She only wakes up early for 2 things... a red-eye flight to somewhere exotic and early morning game drives. She has just finished an extensive home renovation and would prefer to never see another box again. She's never met a chocolate or glass of bubbles that she didn't like!
