One thing I long to do more of is travel… A few years ago while living in the UK we managed to explore some of Europe but not nearly enough of it!
One of my favourite holidays was the 2 weeks we spent in Italy. We started in Venice and managed to visit Florence, Tuscany, Lucca, Pisa, Cortona, San Gimignano, Siena, Sorrento, Pompeii, Capri, Positano on the Amalfi Coast and we ended in Rome!
At the time of our visit I wasn’t writing this blog so didn’t absorb the trip in a way that would be worthy of writing about it but fortunately I came across this 2 week itinerary for Italy which is almost exactly what we did so if you’re planning a visit to Italy be sure to check it out!
Our visit was in July, so rather hot and sticky, but we had a great time. A few years later I was fortunate enough to return to Italy on holiday but this time I was without my travel partner… I visited Northern Tuscany, The Bay of Poets at Lerici, Milan and the 5 villages of the Cinque Terre but it was over too soon. I would love to return and spend more time in each of these places. A few nights in each was not nearly enough – I would prefer a week at least! Time to soak up more of the amazing atmosphere and stunning scenery…
To remind myself, as well as to inspire you, I have collated my photography from my Italian holidays and have shared a photo diary of each Italian destination I have visited in the order of my travels there.
This is the first destination on our Italian Itinerary – Venice…. A unique city I think most people should see at least once in their lifetime! What a beautiful place to start my adventures in Italy. I hope you will enjoy “travelling” with me!

Planning a visit to Venice? Here’s how to visit Venice in one day!
