So we are back from our whirlwind trip to Holland. we visited Delft and Breda which are both near Rotterdam.
Delft was lovely very quaint and pretty and we enjoyed wandering around the market and along the canals.
It was very quiet too as there are not many cars in the centre of the town which was lovely.
Our hotel overlooked a canal lined with ducks and lillies and we thoroughly enjoyed the bed (comfortable) and breakfast (yummy).
I bought a little delft pottery dish and also my usual christmas decoration (I collect one from each place we visit.) We also had a great meal with j&r and laughed a lot.
Sunday was a bit wet on the motorway but luckily stopped when we went into Breda.
Hope you enjoy the pictures…
These images were all taken on a weekend trip we took from the UK to Delft, Holland – the birthplace of the painter, Johannes Vermeer and the setting for his famous painting and the subsequent book and film – Girl with the Pearl Earring.
