It’s not often I go to watch live theatre… but when I do I always seem to ask myself the question “Why don’t I do this more often!?” I always enjoy the experience so much and walk away uplifted, inspired and moved! I think it is so important to open your mind and mix up your routine every now and again by doing or watching something that is out of the norm for you.
The Snow Goose is a timeless piece of theatre based on the Paul Gallico short story. It tells the story of a chance encounter between a recluse and a young girl and how a friendship blossoms as they nurse an injured wild goose back to health in the marshes of Essex in the 1930’s.
We weren’t quite sure what to expect but found ourselves getting swept up in the story thanks to the incredible acting of two talents – Taryn Bennett and James Cairns – who capture your attention throughout the show with their clever use of masks, simple staging and amazing performance skills.
This show really needs to be seen in order to appreciate the true magic of their performances. Each actor bringing at least 5 different characters to life and switching between them in the blink of an eye. It was a marvel to watch and even kept my husband entertained (and he’s usually not a drama theatre person!)
