Weekend Wanderings: The Junior Cape Town Cycle Tour 2015

Over the weekend of 8 & 9th March we participated in our first ever cycle race… well my kids did! They took part in the Junior Cape Town Cycle Tour!!

It was a really great family fun day out – albeit a bit longer than I anticipated!! I had planned to be there from 7:30 – approx 10:30 not realising that the 10km race my son had signed up for only STARTED at 13:00. Needless to say the rest of our plans for the day had to change as we only left there after 14:00. A very long day indeed!

Anyway it still proved to be a fun morning. We hung out with friends who had also signed up and spend some time at the Beautiful Gate tent as we had selected this charity to sponsor as part of our ride.

The kids loved taking part in their races. Abi rode 1.7km and my husband ran alongside and then Ben rode 10km with his best buddy.

Apart from the rides there was also great family entertainment on the morning including a snake show and plenty to eat.

Here are a few pics of the day which I snapped…

Sorry that this post is a bit late… the very afternoon of this event my daughter managed to break her arm so things got a bit derailed around here!
