The Great Gatsby

Tonight we’re off on a date to finally see the long awaited remake of The Great Gatsby starring Leonardo diCaprio and Carey Mulligan as Jay Gatsby and Daisy Buchanan. I can’t wait. Loved the book and even watched the first film a few years ago (if you must know I borrowed it from the library!)

Here is the trailer just in case you’re one of the few who haven’t seen it and want to know what all the hype is about…

And if you’re not familiar with the story the basic outline is something like this…

The Great Gatsby follows would-be writer Nick Carraway as he leaves the Midwest and comes to New York City in the spring of 1922, an era of loosening morals, glittering jazz and bootleg kings. Chasing his own American Dream, Nick lands next door to a mysterious, party-giving millionaire, Jay Gatsby, and across the bay from his cousin, Daisy, and her philandering, blue-blooded husband, Tom Buchanan. Nick is drawn into the captivating world of the super-rich, their illusions, loves and deceits. (source:

But mostly we’re all going for the clothes and jewels. Right girls 😉

How fab are these official posters? It’s all about Art Deco right now!
