The Beauty Benefits of Almonds

It is clear that almonds are truly nature’s beauty secret. Whether you apply it to your skin or have a handful daily, they are essential for a healthy skin. They are also packed with natural energy and nutrients needed to sustain you throughout the day and it has been suggested that a handful of almonds every day can help prevent heart disease, help you lose weight and keep your cholesterol levels low.

The Beauty Benefits of Almonds

Almonds may be known for their use as snacks or in confectionery, but people seldom think of them as beauty treatment or health aid. For centuries almonds were considered to be one of nature’s beauty secrets, even mentioned in the Bible. Ancient Egyptians praised the little nuts for their beautifying effect on the skin. However it’s doubtful if the ancient Egyptians knew about the almond’s generous vitamin E content and how it helped to give skins that satisfying healthy glow. But they did know how to concoct all kinds of lotions and potions with almonds as the core ingredient. Some of those recipes have leaked out and modern beauticians still prefer almond-infused products based on them. Today modern beauticians still love applying almond oil! Not bad for a little nut emerging from something similar to a wrinkled peach!

Try this home-made face mask to get maximum value from almonds using only raw almonds, pure honey and fresh lemon juice. Almonds provide the vitamin E for luster and suppleness, honey has antibacterial properties and external application on wounds and cuts makes them heal faster.
