What I… Tanya from Things to do with Kids

Today I’m sharing my space with Tanya who blogs over on her website Things to do with kids.

Tanya loves the wide open spaces of the Karoo, the simple things in life, building businesses, the great outdoors and family.

She believes that a healthy family life leads to a healthier community, country and world. The idea behind her business, mobile app and website is to encourage families to spend time together by giving them the tools and ideas on how to do this.

What I…

Know:
This is the toughest question of all, since what we think we know changes from day to day, especially if we continuously grow. I know love is the most amazing thing. It heals, replenishes, comforts, makes us do silly things and above all it makes us see past others mistakes and connect people across all genders, religions, and cultures. I know distress kills, eustress energises and that wisdom is fundamental to knowledge. Oh, and Meyers Briggs knew what they were talking about!

Love:
I love adventuring, exploring and being active. I love reading, thinking and problem solving. I love myself and I am grateful that God has blessed me with this, as I see so many others in need of self-love instead of self-adoration. Imagine having to live with a person you don’t love or even like- if you don’t love yourself you will have a hard time at being happy and loving others. “I love it when a plan comes together”:) I love family, friends, good wine and stimulating conversations. I love doing business and growing as a person and professional.

Read:
Mommy life has interfered with extended, late night or early morning reading sessions the past 3 years… so when I do read I read blog updates on problem-solving, time optimising and strategy. Books I read and never finished includes the 8th Habit, Seven Habits and Mind Power- loved it though. I read every single book from Og Mandino, and then Thirteen Hours from Deon Meyer, Wilbur Smith and I probably know every children’s book in our house by heart.

Want:
Want is a dangerous thing- I try not to want. . . but I WANT to go on a holiday, explorations and adventures OFTEN! Date nights on a weekly basis and two of me, so one can work (I love working- workaholic) and the other can take care of and cherish my family:)

Wear:
Hmm, I actually had to go to my closet to see what it is that I wear. Mostly jeans, simple line no frills clothing. My little black dress, mostly flat shoes and my wedding band. Also, mostly my upsize 12 clothes since I haven’t done much to get back to my size 10.

Need:
I really only need food and water to take care of my physical and prayer time to take care of my being. Going camping often as teenager and having a dad who inspired us to enjoy the simple things if life, I have experienced that all I need is food and water, a bonus would be good company to share it with. And then in a day this company and I would probably start a business:)

Kathryn Rossiter

Kathryn is a South African lifestyle blogger and mom of 2 who has been blogging daily for over 9 years! She writes about travel, health, beauty, fashion, decor and family... but not food (unless it's food she's eaten made by someone else) as she is a hopeless cook. She only wakes up early for 2 things... a red-eye flight to somewhere exotic and early morning game drives. She has just finished an extensive home renovation and would prefer to never see another box again. She's never met a chocolate or glass of bubbles that she didn't like!
