What I… Tamzin from femmegypsy

This week I’m pleased to be interviewing a blogger who also happens to be one of my most engaged readers (love them!) Please join me in welcoming Tamzin from femmegypsy. Her blog is her place where she shares her love of reading, eating and mountain biking! (plus loads more of course!) Hope on over to her About page to find out more or read on…

Know: I will never understand everything, that I cannot and should not compare myself to other people, that support is elusive, that my mind is louder than my mouth, that every day should start like it is your birthday, that fascinating people travel, that friends can severely disappoint you and strangers can greatly encourage you, that everyone makes mistakes and that everyone doesn’t have to like you.

Love: I love my boyfriend, my family and friends, mountain biking, yoga, food, chocolate, babies, herbal tea, warm blankets, movies, popcorn, reading, writing, travelling, studying people’s behaviour, my home, typewriters and monkeys.

Read: Books that come to mind are Shantaram (Gregory David Roberts), Eat Pray Love and Committed (both by Elizabeth Gilbert), I Have Life (Marianne Thamm and Alison), Mao’s Last Dancer (Li Cunxin), The Last Right (Marianne Thamm), The Help (Kathryn Stockett), Dan Ariely’s books on behavioural economics and any Marian Keyes for light reading on the beach. I love anything that is genuine and thought-provoking and to that end I indulge myself in blog reading daily (mostly personal blogs) and love autobiographies too.

Want: I want to pass the third level of my CFA exam in two weeks so that I can spend my spare time doing exactly what I want to be doing. It is not that I do not enjoy the content but that I would like to study the concepts in my own time without worrying about an exam. I would absolutely love to organise a few weekends away soon, we try to travel as much as possible with our mountain bikes but have not been able to for a while. We really do live in the most beautiful country. I also want to start planning a trip abroad for next year, there are so many places that I dream of exploring. I have so many ideas pinned and I want to use them in re-decorating our study/bike room so that it is more functional. I also want some chocolate cake with butter icing and to wake up without an alarm in the morning.

Wear: I have quite a casual, quirky and relatively boho/gypsy style of dressing. I love jeans (in all colours), boots, slip slops, sandals, scarves, bangles, fun t-shirts and big sweat shirts although I would rather spend my money on eating out and seeing new and interesting places than clothes.

Need: I need to be patient with myself, to stop worrying, peaceful sleep (not like Tabard) and to stop knocking my tea mug over on my desk.

Thanks for taking part Tamzin!

If you would like to nominate a blogger to feature in this series please do leave a comment or send me an email. I’d love to hear who your blog faves are so that I can feature them!! Thanks xx

Kathryn is a South African lifestyle blogger and mom of 2 who has been blogging daily for over 9 years! She writes about travel, health, beauty, fashion, decor and family... but not food (unless it's food she's eaten made by someone else) as she is a hopeless cook. She only wakes up early for 2 things... a red-eye flight to somewhere exotic and early morning game drives. She has just finished an extensive home renovation and would prefer to never see another box again. She's never met a chocolate or glass of bubbles that she didn't like!
