Taming my Tresses at Tosca Tygervalley

A few weeks ago I was invited by Nina of Tosca Tygervalley to pop in for a treatment and styling session with her. Now my hair hasn’t been something I’ve paid to much attention to, if truth be told I usually only get to the hairdresser once every 6 months so I was more than happy to take her up on her offer.

For the last few years all I have done with it is pretty much trim the split ends so when she suggested a few layers I was a bit nervous, my super thick hair is busy enough and my fear is always that it is going to go wild. But I decided to place my head and hair into her capable hands and go with it…. She also suggested some changes to my colour which was looking like I had gone for the “ombre” trend of dark to light but was in fact very old colour that was growing out. Haha. I’m pretty much the PERFECT candidate for a hair make over.

First up was the colour – they toned down the brassy blonde with a brown more suited to my skin tone and added in a few highlights around my face. This process always seems to take much longer than I anticipate…. After what seemed like hours (and probably was!) I finally headed to the basins for my Joico K-pak 4-step treatment – the aim of which is to restore your hair to it’s natural state. It consists of a Chelating Shampoo, Cuticle Sealer plus Deep-Penetrating Reconstructor and Intense Hydrator conditioners. This luxury hair reconstruction product repairs damage caused by thermal styling, chemical treatments and environmental aggressors such as sun and wind and dry or humid climates. Hair is left strong, healthy and beautiful. And then my favourite part….. the AMAZING head massage. This one was up there with the best I’ve ever had! Totally Heavenly.

Nina then took over again to being working her magic on my style. The cut itself was done within a very short time and it was time for her to do something different for me as I was heading off to a photo shoot that afternoon. Lately I’ve really been loving my hair with curls or waves in it and decided that would be the look I would choose.

After 4 hours I finally emerged as a new me! Tosca had tamed my tresses and the result was this…

So, what do you think? I must admit that it took me a while to get used to the change, but then every time I leave the hairdresser I always have a day when I’m not sure. But now a few weeks on, and a few compliments later, I’m feeling much more confident with my new look!

Thanks Tosca for getting me out of my hair rut!
