What I… Tahlia from Too Much Loveliness

Tahlia from Too Much Loveliness is another one of the lovely bloggers I met at the Cape Town Bloggers Meetup – who knew there were so many of us right? Anyway she write an awesome food blog where she shares her favourite foodie finds around the Mother City.

Some of her great loves include…

cupcakes that make you smile, songs that you could fall in love to, sushi that you could eat for days, beaches that seem to mimic paradise and restaurants that make the ‘for my birthday I want to go here’ list.

What …

Is that the world is a beautiful place filled with people that are good and kind. And that the best way to grow your soul is to travel the world and to meet these kind and good people. I know that by sharing yourself with someone – you will be rewarded tenfold. By being brave for just a minute you can turn your whole world upside down in the most wonderful way.

My family for trying to find the balance between keeping me safe and letting me fly. I love my sweetheart of a boyfriend who makes my day better just by holding my hand. I love our odd little baby cat with skew eyes who lazes in bed with us in the mornings. I love my crazy crazy friends who make me laugh until I cry, who forgive me for being too busy and who share in my excitement and enthusiasm.

I also love a really cold glass of Veuve Clicquot and a lobster roll… but that’s asking for an even longer list!

Everything and anything or nothing at all. I read ferociously and with an appetite for words that would put any fat kid to shame. When I’m busy I have to forcibly ignore books otherwise I get sucked down a literary hole and will not come up for air until I have finished the book. I can easily lose days when I start reading.

I love great stories with my list of favourites included Shantaram, The Poisonwood Bible, Captain Corelli’s Mandolin, Atlas Shrugged, The House of the Spirits and Perfume.
I can pick up any book and read it – lately I’ve been sneaking into the boyfriends Kindle and reading scifi books from the Ender trilogy and Kurt Vonnegut books.

I want to travel the world. I want to have a big house filled with laughter and children and puppies. I want to always feel as loved and as lucky as I do now. I want my grandma to live forever. I want my little brother to fall in love and grow up. I want my boyfriend to see himself through my eyes so that he could truly understand how wonderful he is. I want my mom to keep acting like a teenager and I want my dad to always be that constant force in my life just one step behind me should I fall over.

Pretty much – I want exactly what I have already plus a really big pay check.

In winter I’m wrapped up in all things soft. Its actually embarrassing my affection for things that are soft – cashmere jerseys, soft wools, fluffy scarfs, faux fur, suede coats, lambs wool socks. When I’m old and fabulously rich I’m just going to wear soft expensive clothes topped with a coat of llama hair!

In summer I wear sun dresses and strappy shoes and crazy crazy tangled hair.
I have absolutely no dress style whatsoever. I wear what I think is beautiful and makes me happy.

to be loved everyday. To have someone offer me a cup of tea. I need order after weeks of chaos. I need regular and plenty of sleep otherwise I fall over and cry. I need beautiful things in my life. And I need to be able to escape into the depths of my bed when it all gets too much. And I need to be me – because being me makes me happy.

I also need clean underwear and comfy boots!

Kathryn Rossiter

Kathryn is a South African lifestyle blogger and mom of 2 who has been blogging daily for over 9 years! She writes about travel, health, beauty, fashion, decor and family... but not food (unless it's food she's eaten made by someone else) as she is a hopeless cook. She only wakes up early for 2 things... a red-eye flight to somewhere exotic and early morning game drives. She has just finished an extensive home renovation and would prefer to never see another box again. She's never met a chocolate or glass of bubbles that she didn't like!

  1. Going to the Blog Olympics again? How exciting.
Make sure you dress appropriately at all times when you’re around Dylan Moore. Because remember, he thinks:

If you are gonna wear a skirt with no panties then you really can’t blame a brother for having a touch…”

Well done for legitimizing Rape Culture in the name of a bit of self-publicity.

(it’s fine, I know you’re not going to publish this) 🙂
