In South Africa we are in the middle of winter, up until now Cape Town’s weather has been rather summery and unlike winter at all (except for the odd rainy day and some snow on Table Mountain today!) but although we don’t generally go below 5 degrees I am feeling a bit envious about those experiencing summer at the moment…..
So to make me even more envious I am drooling over these amazing images of beautiful summer homes on the island of Formentera in Spain (located in the Balaeric Islands). This small island is quieter and less touristy than it’s neighbour, Ibiza. Sounds like somewhere I need to visit!
These inspiring images are from Textura’s catalog. This label from Spain has an extensive collection of home textiles. The photos for the catalogue were shot by Spanish photographer Jordi Canosa. The styling was done by his wife Daniela Cavestany in their own home!

Loving the neutral palette and the use of natural materials and colours. And don’t you LOVE the views out of the over-sized windows. Heaven!

Love the cement floors and staircase in this home…. and all the wooden beams! I’m a huge fan of rustic, country style kitchens too so this is perfect!
This last property was featured in the Spanish magazine, INTERIORES… it is also located on the island of Formentera! Loving this sublime Spanish style. Don’t you feel like enjoying a chilled pool party in this lovely outdoor area. Lovely laid back feeling to this space.

Aren’t those spaces incredible? The simplicity and “back to basics” approach makes for a perfect relaxed holiday destination. For more info on Formentera click here.
