Spring day in my garden!

Today is the official start of Spring in the Southern Hemisphere (well kind of…) In South Africa we always say Spring starts on 1 September but I think the correct date of the Spring Solstice is 23 Sep (but shhhh don’t tell anyone. I prefer to think it is today – 1 September!)

Anyway I feel like celebrating the start of Spring today with some pics of the fabulous flowers in bloom in my garden…

Now remember that this garden has been completely ignored in the past 2 years since I fell pregnant (besides the occasional lawn mow and weed by our faithful gardener) I haven’t paid much attention to pruning or planting but still I am blessed with these beautiful blooms.

One of my favourite trees – the Coral Tree – has the most beautiful blossoms and being that THE colour for summer is coral I think it is quite on trend! I am so lucky to have this lovely mature tree in my garden… thank you to the kind person who thought of the future occupiers of this home and planted it many years ago for us to enjoy!

She writes about travel, health, beauty, fashion, decor and family... but not food (unless it's food she's eaten made by someone else) as she is a hopeless cook. She only wakes up early for 2 things... a red-eye flight to somewhere exotic and early morning game drives. She has just finished an extensive home renovation and would prefer to never see another box again. She's never met a chocolate or glass of bubbles that she didn't like!
