Spa Review: Lanzerac Spa

A day at a spa is always a delicious treat that I never take for granted… It’s luxury personified to spend a full day indulging in time for me, body treatments and silence.

Recently my husband and I celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary (a few weeks early) with an indulgent weekend at the Lanzerac Hotel & Spa near Stellenbosch. (Read my full hotel review here!)

We escaped for just 24 hours but it felt much longer and I put it down to a few clever tweaks we made to our one night getaway…

  1. We arrived early at 11am, even though our check-in time was only 2pm. We dropped our bags off at reception and set off to explore the estate at our leisure.
  2. We booked ourselves in for a full body massage at the spa to really set the tone for a relaxing time away
  3. We didn’t leave the estate at all during our stay but rather made the hotel our destination – fully experiencing all it had to offer from poolside drinks in the day spa, to wine tasting and cheese platters in the deli to dinner within walking distance of our room.

All these reasons meant that our fairly short kid-free getaway of 24 hours felt at least as long as a weekend!

But back to the Lanzerac spa…

We each opted to also a full body THERAVINE™ massage that focuses on relieving stress and muscle tension (much needed!!!)

After being shown up the sweeping staircase we curled up in the relaxation area with a glass of MCC and a few snacks to enjoy the panoramic views of the vineyards through the large paned windows.

My lovely therapist prepared a blend of fragrant antioxidants containing pure grapeseed oil and natural botanicals and I sank down into the heated, enveloping towels on the bed to fully appreciate an hour of happiness itself in the form of the AromaVine™ Pinotage Massage – at just the right pressure! This little spoil was such an inspired idea!

At the Lanzerac spa each of the 6 treatment rooms is decorated differently and this ensures that each experience is unique. My room was a calm space of soft blues and whites while my husband’s room was more opulent with darker walls for a cocooning effect! There is also the option of a couples treatment room as well as a disabled treatment room – just remember to book ahead!

If you’re planning a full day spa experience you can also choose to book manis & pedis, skincare and beauty treatments or even a spa package. View all the treatments on offer HERE and view the packages on offer HERE

All guests of the hotel can enjoy the spa facilities which include a heated swimming pool, gym and jacuzzi.

After our relaxing massage we were keen to enjoy more of the spa facilities so enjoyed a dip in the heated pool and a bit of time in the jacuzzi, followed by some chilling out on the deck overlooking the vineyards while enjoying a delicious green coconut juice from the Vitality Corner cafe.

The Lanzerac spa is a beautiful escape near Stellenbosch, where comfort and luxury blend for a beautiful experience…

Spending time soaking in the silence while enjoying the view meant that we felt wholly rejuvenated and refreshed before heading off to enjoy a wine tasting and a bite of light lunch at The Deli.

This was such a special spot on the Lanzerac estate that we made sure we came back again later in the day to enjoy the sunset from here too! Heaven!
