Spa Review: So Sorbet Meadowridge is now open plus a WIN!

Recently I was lucky enough to be invited to visit the new Sorbet spa and nail bar that opened up in Meadowridge Park n Shop (tucked away in the corner next to Woolworths).

I popped in one Sunday morning to find out more about the newest Sorbet offering and to sample some of their delights… and boy was it wonderful.

I was greeted warmly by the lovely owner, Julie, who is often on hand to ensure personal attention that makes you feel relaxed and welcome immediately.

First up I was treated to a relaxing 30 min Swedish back and neck massage in one of the private treatment rooms and my therapist really knew how to get stuck in to my tight neck knots and work them into oblivion. After working the tight spots she moved on to a more relaxing pace and I could feel the stress and tension ease from my body. At a very reasonable R230 I will definitely be “back” for more soon.

And then it was time to move to the neighbouring therapy room for a 75 min Sorbet facial with the new range of Age Smart Sorbet skincare products. Another great deal at only R380!

My facial therapist was so lovely, really gentle and helpful – willing to explain each step of the process and which products she was using and recommended for my skin, but also really understanding and aware that at times I just wanted to drift off and revel in the pleasure of the experience. And it was just that! And afterwards? My skin felt refreshed and revitalised.

The Sorbet salon is beautiful, with a clean and fresh appearance. The shelves are fully stocked with some of the best names in skin and body care including Environ, Dermalogica and Sorbet’s own amazing range of body products and their new skin care range.

Besides the private treatment rooms hidden at the back of the space there are ample manicure stations and some amazing lazy boy chairs perfect for a pedicure. I settled myself into one with a glass of bubbles and indulged in one more treat… an express mani and pedi for under R200. I went with 2 delicious Morgan Taylor colours – Lost in Paradise for my pedi is still going strong over 2 weeks later!

I loved my time spent in this lovely local salon, it was the perfect pre-Mother’s Day treat, and I look forward to returning soon to take advantage of their great treatment prices. Sorbet is great for those looking for an affordable option in a convenient location.
And next time I may even have to take along my 5 year old beauty fan to enjoy your first spa experience with their Sorbabies offerings – A Little Miss Mani is only R50. What a sweet treat for a special day!

Kathryn is a South African lifestyle blogger and mom of 2 who has been blogging daily for over 9 years! She writes about travel, health, beauty, fashion, decor and family... but not food (unless it's food she's eaten made by someone else) as she is a hopeless cook. She only wakes up early for 2 things... a red-eye flight to somewhere exotic and early morning game drives. She has just finished an extensive home renovation and would prefer to never see another box again. She's never met a chocolate or glass of bubbles that she didn't like!

  1. Pity it’s only for that specific Sorbet…I’m in desperate need of a facial, but in PE.

Sounds like you had a lovely experience….and what a good price for an express mani and pedi!

  2. I often visit the Meadowridge store – always a lovely experience. Jaime is one of the therapists – she is fantastic. I always ask for her!
