Poetry Spring Summer 2019/20

Last week I was fortunate to be invited to an exclusive pre-season showing of the brand new Spring/ Summer collection from Poetry.

If you’re a regular reader you’ll know I’m a great fan of this beautiful brand and my love affair continues…

Poetry always has the prettiest prints and patterns in the fashion range and their homeware collection is where I always head first when I’m looking for a beautiful gift – for myself my friends!

The #PoetrySS20 collection didn’t disappoint!

The sun shone down on a gorgeous afternoon at the historic Welgemeend House. We relaxed in beautiful surroundings, taking in the fabulous floral decor installations, the fun mini food market and the locally produced ceramics and tableware on the vine-covered patio of my dream – complete with block print cloths, super soft rugs and laid back vibes. Just my type of space!!!

Poetry are widely known as the “Dresstination” and this Spring/ Summer they haven’t disappointed… the fashion show showcased an array of summery dresses that made me want to fast forward to summer holidays immediately!

I loved the beautiful bright palette – plenty of corals, blue & white and olive green.

Prints and patterns featuring prominently and I love the variety – there is certainly a style to suit everyone, at every age!

As a middle-aged mom there is plenty on offer for me to feel pulled together at the school gate, at work or on the beach… but that’s not to say that the range is aimed at those over the hill only… the collection is young and fun at the same time as bring simply stylish and it will appeal to many a millennial too!

I particularly love the attention to detail that they pay to garments – with embroidery and broderie anglaise items featuring in the collection.

One thing I really admire about Poetry is their commitment to sourcing as much of their range locally – both fashion and homeware. This collection features approximately 65% of locally manufactured items!

Poetry’s accessories also deserve a mention – stylist straw hats, leather bags and an array of earrings and necklaces make completing your outfit a breeze!

Poetry has also become a fab destination for those looking for flattering swimwear for summer. The looks is rather retro but with a modern edge – think high waisted bikinis with halter tops and full pieces with plunging necklines.

From the gorgeous clothing, on-trend footwear, fun accessories and hand-crafted homeware, Poetry have once again outdone themselves on a beautifully curated collection: Inspired by the world, created in South Africa.

This summer Poetry is a destination worth exploring…

Kathryn is a South African lifestyle blogger and mom of 2 who has been blogging daily for over 9 years! She writes about travel, health, beauty, fashion, decor and family... but not food (unless it's food she's eaten made by someone else) as she is a hopeless cook. She only wakes up early for 2 things... a red-eye flight to somewhere exotic and early morning game drives. She has just finished an extensive home renovation and would prefer to never see another box again. She's never met a chocolate or glass of bubbles that she didn't like!
