Penelope Cruz in Vogue

Pretty Penelope appears as the cover girl of the June issue of Vogue magazine. She looks sensational for someone who had a baby less than 6 months ago and wears wonderful white Dolce & Gabbana pieces throughout the shoot. The photographs by Mario Testino are, as usual, gorgeous and glamorous. Love them!

Penelope seems like a really lovely person, very down to earth even though she is high up on the list of “Most gorgeous people on the planet”. She and her fellow Spaniard husband, Javier Bardiem, make up one of my favourite celebrity couples.

In the Vogue interview she speaks of how becoming a mother to baby Leo has changed her: ‘From the first second, you feel so much love,’ Cruz says. ‘It is a revolutionary experience. That’s the best way I can describe it. It transforms you completely, in a second. Nature is very wise and gives you nine months to prepare, but in that moment—when you see that face, you are transformed forever. Even if you have heard from all your friends and family, “This is what’s going to happen,” until it happens to you, it’s hard to understand in your soul.’ Motherhood, she says, has ‘changed the way I see the world. Even if you were aware of children and felt compassion, when you have your own, it multiplies. It breaks your heart to know that there are so many children in the world suffering so much.’ Even sleepless nights haven’t fazed her: ‘Some nights you sleep more, some nights less, but you don’t care,’ she said. She is determined, despite her fame and that of her husband Javier Bardiem, that Leo remain out of the limelight. She explained: ‘I want my son – and my kids if I have more – to grow up in a way that is as anonymous as possible. ‘The fact that his father and I have chosen to do the work that we do doesn’t give anybody the right to invade our privacy.’
