Weekend Wanderings – Palmiet

Last year we went camping at Palmiet. While we were there a wild fire was raging in the mountains near by.

These are some of the photos taken at Palmiet lagoon, river mouth and beach as well as of the huge moon which rose behind the smoke clouds that evening!

Kathryn is a South African lifestyle blogger and mom of 2 who has been blogging daily for over 9 years! She writes about travel, health, beauty, fashion, decor and family... but not food (unless it's food she's eaten made by someone else) as she is a hopeless cook. She only wakes up early for 2 things... a red-eye flight to somewhere exotic and early morning game drives. She has just finished an extensive home renovation and would prefer to never see another box again. She's never met a chocolate or glass of bubbles that she didn't like!

  1. Hi Kath forgot to ask – what lens are you using, I am in the market for a new one but cant decide betwn wide angled zoom or fixed? Any ideas? x F

  2. I use the kit lens on my canon (18 – 55mm) then I have a zoom (75 – 300mm) and recently bought a prime lens (50mm) I haven’t used a wide angle lens before but have heard they are great although pricey! All depends on the type of photography you “focus” on.

  3. I grew up in Kleinmond! Ugly little town (tho has to be said it was less ugly then), but such gorgeous surroundings! Your pics do them justice 🙂
