Each month I share my favourite finds across the board – from beauty, to fashion, to books, to decor, even great little spots and shops that I’ve stumbled across have been known to crack a mention.
Today I’m sharing a few of my favourite finds from one of my best favourite finds in recent months: Faithful to Nature online shop
As a family we try our best to choose wisely when it comes to what we eat and use in our daily lives. Our preferred options are also the more natural options, organic where possible.
Now we are not fanatical by any stretch of the imagination but we have been known to make our own kombucha, use coconut oil as a moisturiser and opt for the natural alternative when it comes to deodorant and toothpaste… maybe that does make us border-line “granola”??
Every day we try to make the best choices we can. We compost, grow our own herbs (and sometimes veggies), juice and buy free-range and organic meat and dairy where possible… we’ve yet to embrace a full-on vegan lifestyle or grow dreads, but the beauty of this lifestyle is that it’s accepting of everyone, at every stage along the journey. So whether this is the first time you’re considering buying an organic product, or if you’re well on your way to being an urban farmer, you’ll be welcome at Faithful to Nature.
I recently stocked up on a few of our favourite organic products and it really was so much easier than schleping around to 3 different stores to find our favourite peanut butter! They have an amazing selection of options for every need, from toiletries, to food, to home products and kids essentials.
This is what my latest basket looked like…. (Well, minus the raw honey chocolate covered Macadamia nuts I ate before I had a chance to take this photo… they were amazing! Trust me!)
Any a bit more about each of my choices….
1. Oh Mega Peanut Butter
We’re a family of peanut butter lovers and this Oh Mega Peanut Butter is the best organic one on the block. Not too stodgy and very easy to spread, it’s full of nutrients, including omega 3’s, which all of us need more of. And has no added sugar or salt or other rubbish!
2. Crede Coconut Oil
A staple in our shopping trolley these days is coconut oil. It’s such a multi-purpose product that I can’t imagine life without it. We use it for cooking (instead of olive or sunflower oil), as butter or margarine (YUCK) replacement and even as a body moisturiser for the super-dry eczema riddled bodies my babies both seem to have inherited from their father! There are so many ways to use this super product. Click here to read more about the health benefits of Coconut Oil.
3. Natracare Cotton Tampons
These Natracare cotton tampons are a fairly new item on my radar, although they have been around for years, but from research I’ve been doing I’m keen to move towards using organic sanitary products to avoid the chlorine and pesticides used in conventional products.
4. Victorian Garden Rose, Pelargonium and Sweet Orange Roll On Deodorant
I’m still on the hunt for a natural deodorant that lasts the whole day. I’ve come close to finding that holy grail, but the search continues…. and this Victorian Garden roll on deodorant was recommended by some of my lovely readers (eg. YOU) I love the soft floral scent. Here’s hoping it remains a firm favourite right though the heat of summer!
5. KiddieKix Very-Berry Bircher Moosli
I’ve been trying to find a healthy breakfast cereal alternative to the ones lining the shelves at the supermarket. It’s not easy!! Fortunately my son quite likes muesli with yoghurt so I got this uber-healthy Bircher Moo-sli to try. It contains oats, coconut, sunflower seeds, almonds and cranberries all finely ground up. It contains NO preservatives, sugar, salt or additives! Bircher muesli requires soaking overnight in nut milk, fruit juice or milk in the fridge and then is served with grated apple, plain yoghurt and some honey. It really is a delicious, healthy breakfast option… just requires a bit of foresight to get everything ready the night before.
What I really appreciated too was the super helpful little pocket guide to safe shopping that came with my order…. a handy list of all the main ingredients to avoid when it comes to cosmetic, cleaning or food products, plus a list of the SAFE ones too! This will be going straight into my wallet for safe keeping!
