Every Friday I feature a Beauty Review from one of the members of my Beauty Babes review team.
This week it’s the turn of Moeneeba…
Over the past few months liquid lipsticks have risen in popularity and rightfully so, gone are the days of a traditional lipstick that just does not live up to its lasting ability and vibrancy when you want it to.
Liquid lipsticks have outdone themselves on providing rich, vibrant colour in a variety of shades
Unfortunately that’s where it ends with most formulas as too many of them are somewhat tacky in texture, don’t last, smell pretty awful or completely dry out the lips.
What I’ve loved about the Maybelline 24 hour SuperStay lipsticks is the moisturising balm that comes with it. It provides lovely moisture and a slight sheen upon applying over the lipstick…. in fact I’ve enjoyed it so much that I’ve even opted to using the lip balm on its own on occasion.
Other aspects of this product that I have loved are it’s gorgeous sweet, fruity scent – almost good enough to eat. The pointed applicator brush got me all excited as this allowed for ease of application and eliminated the messy business of having to redo your lips.
24hr stay? Well, I can’t exactly say if it lasted that long (my days for pulling all nighters has long seized to exist) however it lasted pretty much the entire time I was out (and even through my shower).
But this was long before I did my arm swatches… and that is a different story all together! All I can say is well done to Maybelline – these lipsticks may very well be 24hr stay and definitely here to stay.
Here are the picture of the swatches (From the bottom they are Red Alert, Perpetual Rose, Hot Coral, Always Orchid, In The Nude, Ruby Rush and Tangerine Pop).
And the next day swatches fade…
The amount of elbow grease I needed to remove the swatches was crazy… and my arm could only withstand so much, so I ended up going to work with a fully swatched arm!
People must have been thinking I was all kinds of crazy walking around with a colourful array of arm swatches up and down the length of my arm. I know my colleagues thought so, in fact they told me so!
In all these lipsticks are a great buy that I would highly recommend. They come in a variety of colours as seen in the pictures. I tried in the nude on myself pictured below, its not exactly a nude best suited for myself (as I am a tad bit on the tanner side), however, it made a lovely pink shade which I pretty much rocked the entire day.
So, if you looking to add some colour to your life, I suggest you head over to your local Clicks, Dis-chem, Edgars….. for your dose of 24 hour colour.
