Magic Monotone Apartment in Amsterdam

Loving the understated decor of this monotone colour scheme. This 85 square meter ground floor apartment is located in Amsterdam and belongs to Desiree from the Vosges Paris blog.

I love how this space is not bland or boring at all – just subtle and simple. Apparently the secret to making a home with lots of gray, white and black, not feel cold is to use various shades and finishes (glossy, matte, etc.) and to use lots of texture and mix in natural elements. You can spot everything in her home from recycled rubber to natural wood, vintage wood, fur, glass, concrete, metal, recycled wood, metal and paper which all add texture and life. A clever way to inject warmth into an otherwise cool palette.

She writes about travel, health, beauty, fashion, decor and family... but not food (unless it's food she's eaten made by someone else) as she is a hopeless cook. She only wakes up early for 2 things... a red-eye flight to somewhere exotic and early morning game drives. She has just finished an extensive home renovation and would prefer to never see another box again. She's never met a chocolate or glass of bubbles that she didn't like!
