My Madame Zingara Experience

A few years back my husband and I celebrated a wedding anniversary with a night out at Madame Zingara. It was an amazing evening filled with fab food and exciting entertainment and ever since they have pitched their beautiful, antique tent at the entrance to the Waterfront I have been dying to go again. Well, I finally got my chance when I was invited to a circus-themed beauty launch followed by dinner at the “Theatre of Dreams”. What a treat!

I took along a friend as my plus one and we were thoroughly spoilt – from start to finish the experience is one of non-stop fun. From the moment you walk in the doors you know you are in for an exciting evening! From the dress up boutique and face painting booths to the wacky and wonderful assortment of waiters and waitresses all decked out and dressed up as various quirky characters. The opulent surroundings of the beautiful mirrored tent, with it’s stained glass, velvet drapes and warm wood panelling, really make you feel like you have stepped into another world – or at least a very entertaining movie set!

The entertainment all takes place on a central stage between the various courses of your meal and consists of various circus acts and performances from around the world… each one more amazing and astounding than the next. From jugglers and jazz singers, clowns and contortionists, strong men from Russia and awe-inspiring acrobats from Mongolia, you won’t have a chance to get bored!

And you won’t go hungry either… all the dishes I tried were delicious – the chocolate chilli steak, their most popular choice, is still no 1 on the menu and must be sampled at least once in your life but as I have ordered that option before I opted for the salmon which was equally good. And the trio of bite sized desserts were delectable and just the right way to end an unforgettable evening, well that, and some dancing of course!

This is the perfect place to celebrate a special occassion, preferably with a group of friends looking for a fun night out (Dress up optional, but encouraged!)

Prepare to be amazed!

Ticket prices start from R385 and include a welcome drink and a four course dinner (drinks and service extra).
Shows take place on Tues to Sat @ 7 for 7.30 and bookings are essential.

Disclaimer: I was invited to Madame Zingara as a guest of a beauty brand and did not pay for my meal but I was not asked to blog about the experience by either party.

  1. Think taking my kids to the circus is an awsome idea, coz they love madagasca3 and it would be amazing for them to see a real live circus 🙂

    1. Probably best to try Zip Zap circus for kids tho as Madame Zingara is decidedly and adult venue and not kid-friendly 😉
