The start of a beautiful Life Affair… with Mobelli

This past weekend was a gift in Cape Town…

After a few weeks of bitter cold weather that seemed to last almost all day, the sun came out to play, and boy was it welcome!!

We had friends round for lunch on Saturday and spent almost all afternoon sunning ourselves like little dassies on our patio…

The beauty of my Salone v2 lounge style set of furniture from Mobelli is that it can be left out on the patio in all weather (yes, even the cushions), so all we needed to do was dust it off and sit down. As you can imagine this has made outdoor living so much easy, and much more spontaneous!

In fact we had all been sitting in the kitchen until we realised the warmest spot was out on the patio…

All we had to do was take our wine glasses with us and sit down! Soooo much easier than unpacking the furniture, wiping it down, finding the cushions etc.

We curled up on the comfy cushions with our snacks close at hand and enjoyed catching up in the sunshine. It was bliss!

And when the sun got a little bit too much to bear, we just rolled the umbrella out on it’s convenient wheeled base, locked the wheels in place, raised it in one quick move (thanks to it’s auto-lift mechanism) and angled the shade exactly as needed – on our faces – leaving our legs in the sun so we could top up our tans (it got so warm that eventually we were only wearing our strappy vests… in the middle of winter!)

One of the best investments we made was this umbrella! What a win!

Our previous umbrella was one of those ones you got all tangled up in while trying to find the right rope to raise the jolly thing, only to have one of the wooden posts plonk down on your head because it wasn’t in the right spot to raise the corner! I’m sure you’ve been there!!! Not to mention the super heavy base that I could never move around – and stubbed my toe on FAR to many times to count.

This mobile Mobelli automatic lift umbrella has been a game-changer. I can even put it up all by myself. No need to get Brad to move the base, or put the pin in to keep it up, or fix the wooden “arm” that’s not quite right. All I do is wheel the base out from it’s neat little corner (out of the wind) and then under the velcro straps that keep the umbrella down and give it a small nudge to pop it open! Voila! It’s been a great addition to our outdoor living space and has really changed the way we use our patio.

Our outdoor lounge furniture from Mobelli has changed the way we live… We spend far more time outside now on our patio, enjoying the sunshine, our garden, the birdlife, family time and catching up with our friends!

We entertain in a much more relaxed way now that we have this type of furniture (no more sitting on hard dining table chairs around a table all afternoon!) This style totally suits us because, although we may not be Afrikaans, we certainly do subscribe to the “kuier” way of entertaining!

I’ve certainly fallen in love with my Mobelli outdoor furniture, the good thing is that the amazing quality means that this won’t just be a brief love affair, but is destined to be a Life Affair!

If you’re in the market for quality outdoor furniture for your patio – lounge or dining – make a plan to pop in to your nearest Mobelli showroom. There are branches in Paarden Eiland and Sea Point in Cape Town. Illovo Square and Fourways in Joburg as well as on in Menlyn, Pretoria and Umhlanga Ridge, Durban.
